That unfortunately is true, in some states the age to marry is 16 with parents consent. I was 17 and pregnant and wanted to get married but my parents wouldn't consent. Certain places you don't even need consent at 17, like Ohio and Illinois. Laws have changed. But I know I was 17 underage and just graduated highschool but couldn't get married to my highschool sweetheart, because my parents didn't consent.

This is false information. Please look up Jay Z’s interview with Charlie Rose in 2007. He explicitly states he met Bey 10 years ago, which would have been 1997 at the time, when she was 16/17 and he was 27/28. He also stated he first noticed Bey when she did “No, No, No” confirming he been checking on her since she was underage. That woman was groomed and taken advantage of.
