I was just going back and watching old pox videos. Very epic

I love smallpox and life from the Loam. One of my favorite additions is “Encroach”. It’s a really all-in type of card but casting one on turn one and then smallpoxing on turn two feels so amazing.

Shadowspear and expedition map are great for the saga package. Shadowspear can give you life and can remove indestructible from Khaldra and the one ring allowing you to pop them with boseiju

Life from the Loam is such a cool card. Its effect doesn't seem that powerful at first, but there are a million ways to abuse it.

Lilliana of the Vail is one of the best "get ahead, stay ahead" planeswalkers on the block.

I’d cut the algae for two exploration. There was a lot of times you had multiple lands in hand and would have been nice to play them out.

Somehow work a few copies of Baba Lysaga into this list - works amazing with spreading algae and is an insane advantage engine/win con. Change a few things around and use inkmoth or blinkmoth for more synergy

Pretty sure that a while back Cursed Scroll was changed so that you can name a card in your hand by clicking on it. That should save you pox maniacs some typing!

In r4g3 it was better to destroy the ursa’s saga instead of the ancient tomb. There is one less artifact in play so you take less damage, so you could have cast the small pox later on. Ofcourse this is with hindsight, but we know we have to deal with one construct, so the argument has some merit to it

YESSSSS POX SEASON 2K23 REAL

In a win-con lite deck running Crop rotation and loam, I wonder how useful a single man-land would be. Something like Hive of the Eye tyrant can still enter untapped in early pox games, and becomes a 3/3 menace once the game has grinded on long enough. Alternatively, you could just go for something with a cheaper activation requirement like Lair of the Hydra or the classic Mutavault (not sure how another green or colorless land would fit into a deck wanting BB early and often though).

Saga already fulfills that and also gives tech power. Saga is the land you loam dredge to find. Theres simply no space for another land that doesnt put the squeeze on your opponent.

I have some 0-5s on the channel, but never with Pox.

I love these decks, bland I hate when people can't recognize the absolute headlock you put them in until 6 turns later and they're out of cards everywhere. It's what stopped me from playing lantern more.

Having just looked at the decklist, i feel like getting black black to cast hymn or pox is gonna never happen

There's 14 lands that tap for black, outs to urborg + non-black, and the mox diamonds. It's a little less likely to pull off on 2 than you'd be ideally happy with, but it's also not crazy. On the play without urborg or mox, it's 60.5% to cast a BB spell.

How many times are you going to dead draw dark rit before you realize its not good in pox. Your going for the long game not combo dude. Lilli fist turn is garbage for you

Drit isnt for combo, its to give you explosiveness in a format with multiple t1 decks and aggressive beatdown decks. Same reason youre on mox diamond.

​@@DracomandriuthusExactly, Dark Ritual is most likely a necessary evil. The format is fast and you need to accelerate your prison pieces. Same reason Moon Stompy runs terrible topdecks like Chrome Mox and awkward lands like City of Traitors, you just need that burst of speed sometimes.
