W123 dropped, modded and driven daily // Soup Classic Motoring 61

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I can’t deal with a daily unless it has two things; a fat arm rest and cruise control. When daily becomes nightly decent headlamps help too. It’s time to give a classic Mercedes real world mods, with some period factory parts, and some aftermarket lighting.

@@CLBMSN Hmmm.... that's a tricky issue. George does wonderous things on (I assume) a shoestring budget. The problem with shifting to TV is that it risks spoiling the magic formula of short films covering a long rebuild. George covers life, engineering and philosophy without talking to a silent left-of-camera interviewer. There's sensible, achievable workmanship, without an irrelevant piece of 'human interest' and artificial tears tacked on. There are no pointless deadlines and no happy endings. It really is the opposite of 'good' TV and therefore all the better for it.

Its stupid thinking that any engine should be "banned' as any engine can be if not made to run clean, filtered afterward to an acceptable standard... We have the technology and its actually quite straight forward, unlike engine running characteristics which involve a bit more complex knowledge of the subject, but filtration and flow are very simple even to someone who is just told how it works and how to calculate the flow and the impact of filtration on the flow itself... Witch chemical purging and binding agents we use nowadays, and taken into consideration the length of an average vehicular exhaust system, anyone can mod a car to at least have "eco-friendly" emissions, regardless of the power orientation or just the purism of keeping the matching engine with an oldtimer... We mod the braking and steering systems on oldtimers because they are not as good as they can be and those two are important, more so than the power output, just the same thing can be applied to exhaust, modding that takes away from absolute purism, but fuck absolute purism... Absolute purism is for the halls of museums or private land and road and not for the public road...

I grin then laugh. I'm mesmerised then ultimately left feeling so chilled - and I have zero affinity for cars - how does that happen? You so have developed a new art form, blowing all car reno vids out of the water. Best subscribe ever - thank you

There you are. Great to see another video. Congratulations on getting out on the road with the Merc. I thought that I was watching something from the guys over at Bad Obsession Motorsport, all that lovely bracketry and dimple dietry. Very nice. And what a wonderful country to be driving around too. Thank you.

I love your balls taking on the likes of that CC unit George. The car looks great, it's not covered in "crap" at all, it's covered in "Patina" and it probably wouldn't look right any other way..... (so don't over restore that stuff please 😎) - I can't help thinking Anna will have her beady eye back on this ride now that the surf season is almost over and at €56 per year and that "cool factor" - why wouldn't she 💙

with all my subscriptions that post daily your content got covered and im so happy to have rediscovered your channel once again to update myself with the therapy you share with us! i love the rough around the edges builds you make. i love a complete restoration myself, but the way you build your car from the inside out giving attention to what really matters before getting to its actual outside aesthetic is really pleasing and it lets you enjoy the ratty look on the road before you carry on to making it look pretty. i aspire to be able to build cars the way you do one day

Excellent editing 👌 the level of work gone into every episode is incredible. The story telling and attention to detail is world class. I make a few videos and they take ages . Pity KZread isn't more mainstream in Ireland. Thanks for sharing 👍

After watching a ton of different automotive KZread channels, this is my favorite. Reasons: 1) The detail and camera work is fantastic. I absolutely love this aspect of the channel content. 2) I love W123s, so seeing work on one in this much detail is wonderful. and 3) Your humor and common-sense methods of fixing things are very cool. I've never seen someone fixing a car on KZread that actually talks through the fixes and tools needed; showing the progress and methodologies. Well Done!

Oh my goodness, my mum has that exact sewing machine. Maybe 50 years ago or so our paths were linked, and then brought us both here. As I watched her as a kid I too thought I can do that. Just a lovely video, wafts along like a summer breeze, the rain is never far away, but our faces are upturned welcoming her this time.
