The moment he flogged her out of mere suspicion the FL should have put an end to their relationship.There was no coming back for the ML! The most relieving moment for me was when the FL flogged the ML!!

I always find it a hard sell when the modern woman falls in love with an ancient man. Ancient men really as history describes from whatever culture saw women as commodities... the director needs to sell a piece that we can all stomach but also show the hard struggle of the time. Do we keep the ML clean and perfect? Is he part of the suffering inflicted at the time. I am glad FL got to give him a flog too, i hate she felt guilty doing it. I do think they got the balance right

@@tarrysmile Not only these time travel period dramas Even the low -budget c dramas having modern set-up ......you will see utter violence against women in almost every drama which includes rape, physical assault, emotional torture, forced organ transplantation,forced abortion and the list goes on. As a woman it really makes me uncomfortable!

I have only seen one time travel she divorced him and ran away with her maid. She didnt put up with it! Hence my comment about modern women properly represented 😬other fl when they get attacked they do fight back or say their peace but still forgive his mess. I guess argument falls flat when you think of the modern vertical dramas. They are really... 🤮

Didn't really like either lead in the first few minutes of the show, but they chemistry grow on you and become a very good couple. I didn't really skip a whole lot and I usually do it for costume drama.

這劇真的是男帥女美的，男主隨從、陸將軍和太子也很帥，（對不起，顧二除外），女二就中規中距吧。劇情就走老套路的，男主整劇都找他的白月光，對女主廹婚極之厭惡，在綠茶的助攻下，還對女主諸多刁難，但屢次相互間的接觸下，漸漸愛上女主，最後發現女主才是他的白月光，大團圓結局。這劇勝在劇情流暢，主角高顏值有CP感，兼且各演員演技出色，服化道也不錯，值得一看。此劇唯一缺點就是男主的髮型，太現代化沒有古裝感。男主演時裝這樣的髮型應該很好看。

The ML was abusive from the very beginning and did not deserve forgiveness. The good guy was turned into a bad guy in the end to justify the FL going back to her abusive lover. Such PASSIONATE kisses in this drama. Wow. The story is pretty familiar, with the exception of the ML not favoring a concubine, but choosing to overlook the repeated misdeeds of his super deluded "sister". The ML isn't a idiot. It doesn't take him all that long to figure out the FL isn't who he thought she was and start turning his attention in her direction. He's just one of those noble idiots bound by obligation. 🙄 The story flows pretty smoothly since the FL makes plenty of use of her agency.

I'd say this is a notably typical trope. Instead of him loving her before she died, it wasn't until after the migration and her personality change he "loved" her. But, it's not that former person so I don't feel like that truly counts.

This is a great transmigration costume production with great actors and an interesting storyline. There is some violence that might not be for everyone (nor the ending), but I’ve seen much worse. I loved this strong and clever FL and her way of dealing with those who hurt her and focusing on herself. It would have been nice if the romance/chemistry was stronger but I truly enjoyed this. SYNOPSIS - SPOILER ALERT!!! In ancient times: On their wedding night, a Prince (ML) rejects his new wife, whom he doesn’t like. He ends up humiliating her and leaves the bridal chamber - despite being drugged. His bride then vomits blood from poisoning and dies. Modern day: A female top agent (FL) is killed by a car bomb while on a mission to retrieve some important secrets. Her last action is to grab a jade-pendant. Somehow FL transmigrates into ancient times and wakes up in the body of the unfavored Princess. In her hand is the jade-pendant that probably made the transmigration happen. She receives the memory of the body’s original owner who married the Prince against his will. After his former Princes’ death, he already had someone else in his heart. In fact, he spent the night with an unknown woman a year earlier and he wants to marry her, but can’t find her. Only clue to her identity is a jade-pendant…... Seeing the way she was treated, FL decides to take revenge on her behalf. But when she starts to deal with ML and his childhood sweetheart (2FL), who wanted to marry him instead, she discovers that her outstanding martial arts didn’t transmigrate with her, so she is left with this relatively weak body. Not optimal when you are engaging in a battle. So, for now, she has to rely on her wits in order to survive. Luckily, she is sent into seclusion in a house in the wilderness with only her maid so she decides to get in shape and try to regain her former martial arts - and then return for revenge. When she returns to the mansion, she tries to help the military situation by inventing more modern things like weapons, explosives and strategies that can give their army an advantage.
