No, but his performance on this album is... literally.

This guy is my go to for how a solo is played correctly and without all the talk fluff that you sometimes get. Excellent work bro.

The tour was awesome too!

This guy does this song perfectly every slide and every lick, perfect! He could be a stand in due to minor illness when on tour! GOOD JOB!

That tone and sustain, perfect john sykes. Even the correct custom chrome pick guard on the black Gibson (that I think sykes created)

Sykes bought that now famous 1978 les paul custom in a pawn shop and already had all the chrome parts on it.

Amazing performance man! This song, No More Tears and Sweet Child O' MIne all have that same kind of long building solo. So well composed. On the level of Mozart or Beethoven. Just incredible.

Those clean chords on that middle section deserved to be it's own song. John Sykes guitar god.

Still of the Night to this day totally rocks! I remember hearing this song for the first time in 1987 and then the killer video on MTV. The best cover I’ve ever heard Satsuma. Thanks for showing how to play it as well. 🤘🎸🤘

Flawless! You’ve climbed right into Sykes’ head with this ..he’s a genius and you’ve nailed it. I especially appreciate those “thumb over the top“ chords you play… pretty unorthodox but definitely effective!

For instance, I never even noticed the harmonics being played in this section (3:18) before, and watching you play it, I'm like: "How have I listened to this song for 30 some years, and never noticed that before?".

Same reaction, really. I don't play, but I usually pick up on such detail. When I saw him play that section I was surprised to say the least. I guess most of us get enchanted by that violin bow sound (which I for the longest time was convinced came from some electric chello, even though I'm well aware of Page playing in such style on Dazed and confused).

I was wondering how you could pull off what is essentially a two guitar lead song like that, but you did it beautifully. Amazing as always. I read an interview with the album's sound engineer (about 30 years ago) that the master analog tape for this song is a spliced nightmare, with drum tracks and vocals taking hours to balance . 😉🤘

Zeppelin at the Albert Hall 1970 Jimmy Page is playing one and it had an incredible sound. Perfect for blues rock played loudly and aggressively

I've been listening to this blistering guitar since 1987 and u do Sykes proud!!!!!

Brings back memories. I remember buying the tape of this album. I played the hell out of that tape. I had never heard of Sykes, but dude killed it on this record. I'm no guitar expert by any means, but I thought Sykes's playing on this record is better than Vai's effort on the follow up album. That's just my opinion.
