我也很喜歡香港人，因工作旅館業關係，常常遇到香港客戶，都好nice，而且都很有水準，退房之後房子保持乾乾淨淨的，不會亂丟垃圾在桌上，香港人超棒的。😊😊

歡迎喔~~~中部 南部 消費較低 可是太多人移民的話 可能 物價變高 和台北一樣... 台灣是這樣 人越多的話, 物價會升高 但 薪水是一樣的 頂多表現好慢慢升而已

其實在外國人（或新住民）們提到喜歡台灣的安全之前，我從來沒有想過，對其他人來說，臺灣是安全的。 我也常常覺得，選擇歐美國家對孩子的成長是更有利的，因為臺灣的教育其實是我非常排斥的環境，更喜歡孩子應該要有孩子的樣子。 但我覺得安全確實是一個非常重要的點，畢竟我也不希望枕頭底下需要暗藏一把槍來捍衛我的家庭。

對的故鄉眷戀, 最重要的是來自成長時那段無憂無慮, 伴隨著親情的關愛的生活. 所以不管你選擇在那裡讓孩子成長, 相信你都可以留給他們一個美麗值得回憶的童年.

Great story. I lived in Taiwan from 1998 till 2002 and still have so many fond memories of the place. Thought of going back to Taiwan to work many times, but it's a bit hard now.

I lived in Taiwan for 2 years, and I fell in love with everything, and if I had the chance, would go back and stay.

The quality of life in Taiwan is pretty good except for the noise and pollution. It's definitely much safer than SA. Every place has positives and negatives. I've been in Asia for 30 years and worked in Taiwan and Japan. They both have good points and the opposite. Wherever you feel best is the place for you. Definitely safer for kids in both countries, but the education systems are a headache. I moved to Asia from Hawaii, so the weather here isn't my thing. It's all relative to experience and perspective. Thanks for the nice vlogs. Wishing you well.

I'm sure your kids will have happy memories of their childhood as well. I grew up there until I was nine and still have fond memories. I also like how evertime I go back there's something new, like the 101, or the MRT, or the HSR. But it's the familiar stuff I miss most, like trains, convenience stores, street food, or any food for that matter. The taro mochi pastry alone is worth living there..

I’m a Taiwanese living in South Africa with my SA spouse. We plan on moving back to Taiwan in Feb for all the reasons you stated in this video except that we do not have kids. We just can’t see ourselves retiring in a crime ridden country fending for ourselves in decades to come.... You have done a very realistic depictions of SA and emerged all of our dilemma! Brilliant job!

I like your video. I'm turning 30. I had lived in South Africa for about 6-7 years ( East London, Eastern Cape) when I was Grade 1 to 8. South Africa is a beautiful place, the beaches are way much beautiful than TW. But as you said, crime rate is high, also when you get sick, medical aid is expensive, really a lot of inconvenience compared to TW, so our family moved back to TW eventually. I thank God for letting me grow up in such a beautiful place, there are a lot of beautiful memories of SA. But for living, I still prefer TW.

對於鄉下孩子來說，城市的小朋友真的很可憐．． 也沒見識過以前台灣的美景，還有各種生物． 現在我也回不到過去了，因為很多美景，生物族群很多都不見了（因為工業汙染） 小時候看到海邊的水　是二話不說直接下去開始游泳 但是有一天這樣做的時候　發現眼睛變紅得了結膜炎 那一片海已經不是以前的樂園　很多人無法體會我的感受 看到南非　真的覺得好美阿，希望南非人可以改變上述的那些狀況 那麼那裏就是名副其實的天堂了．

其實台灣都像很多國外的地方一樣美麗。 本人是加拿大人，妻子是台灣人，前年來台灣探親看到很多美麗的風景。 例如九份，淡水，花蓮，台南，高雄，除了美景外，當地的風土人情吸引到小弟。 臺北雖然是個大都會，當地的飲食文化和閱讀風氣可以比很多歐美國家更進一層，同東京沒有很大的差別。 台灣的美是因為台灣人，你們非常友善和富有人情味。 台灣加油！

I came across your video and I really enjoyed watching it. This has been one of the best videos in a long time since I knew KZread. As a born and raised Taiwanese, when I was in my early twentieth I made a decision moving out of the place I grew up in and I did not regret it, because the grass was always greener on the other side. I am in my 30s now and I think this is still true. I am happy I can relate to your situation of finding a place and calling it home. Thanks for the video!

I like Taiwan , cos I think my husband ancestor came from mainland to Taiwan then to Malaysia , where he born and live in Malaysia third generation now , the language in Taiwan I can understand a limitless too not a mandarin dialect cos I am so good too, and fruits in Taiwan there so many varieties of fruits too cos I am raw vegan and vegan , I love persimmons so much when I visited Taiwan , I eat as breakfast , lunch and dinner too, thank you

I don't think he wrote the subtitles himself, the translation's not on point at all time. But it's a good story with great effort in making people understand nonetheless.

I taught english in china for 4 years. All over asia I can tell you that the esl environment is NOT a professional one. It's not designed to be a life long career. It's only meant to be a short term gig. Taiwan is a great place. But the esl job market is one thing you will not be in for very long.

Maybe you're right but there is a pretty good job market for experienced ESL teachers in Canada (Halifax), so if I can get some years over in Asia I think I could also carve out a long-term job at home in Canada after if I wanted.

Nathan, have you ever thought of doing a video talking about your experience living in South Africa during apartheid? I ask because I don't know too many South Africans and I'm interested in learning about the culture. I've been thinking about that question and recent current events, particularly the South African parliament voting through a motion to expropriate white farms without compensation and the silence from the media. I find living in Taiwan has even helped me unpack some of the things in American cultures I couldn't wrap my mind around.

LIAO 有很多人責難台灣 但不是唱衰台灣(當然還是有一部分是的，但我相信大部分不是) 那是一種愛之深責之切的講法 因為關心 所以必須把問題說出來，除非你認為即使不去談 問題也會自己解決 但一般來說不太可能。我自然相信台灣人本質是美好的 但依然有問題在滋生蔓延 比如說毒品越來越氾濫 詐騙集團猖獗等等 當然我們也有理想 也在追求進步 正面或反面的觀點 都是推動我們向前走的動力 好壞都該共同面對 都是台灣的一部分。

Your move to Taiwan almost mirrors mine except that I work in China and my home is in Taiwan. I've also been here 10 years and consider myself as a Taiwan person and I don't want to go back to USA not because I dislike the USA but because I like it here better.

My English teacher told me that he has lived in Taipei for over eighteen years. And his father and mother in law still live in South Africa. But his brother emmigrated to Australia many years ago.

South Africa is a beautiful country! You spoke the feelings for those whom live in abroad.

When I served in the navy of Taiwan about 30 years ago, I visited South Africa and were very grateful to the military of your country. Although I am very sympathetic to the black people at the time, I did not expect that when the blacks of South Africans were in power, they were extremely unfriendly to whites, and in contrast Taiwan welcomed any foreigners including South Africans.

雖然對南非不熟悉，但人總是會眷戀家鄉的，南非自然環境保存很好很美，很適合人生活成長，如果政治及犯罪率就業能改善，那回去家鄉當然是最好的，當然不管以後您以後選擇留在台灣或回南非生活，都祝福您全家健康快樂。

One question out of my curiosity, have you ever tried to learn to read traditional Chinese? Most of my friends foreigners including some ABC may learn how to speak Mandarin but gave up reading it, have you conquer this difficulty yet? Pretty much with your background I have the same feelings as you, I grew up in Australia and have so much good memories with the beautiful scenery farms, rivers, mountains, beach, all these memories kind of pulling me back the desire of going back to Australia. I agree with you in Taiwan is safe but on the other hand the environment (I mean pollution) is getting worse and worse every year. Especially air pollution. We also have politics problems. For foreigners like you are able to obtain a good job (as an English Teacher) but locals like me salary can be low paid and we had to struggle rent/mortgage blamed to the reason of increasing house price. Anyway, glad to have this chance to watch this video. Cheers!

台灣有三寶：勞保、健保、吃到飽。(全民健保制度，世界先進國家都到台灣取經) 台灣有四多：TAXI、超商、夜市、志工多。(便利超商功能及密度；全世界第一) 台灣有五好：環境、服務、醫療、治安、心態好。｢醫(藥)療品質、技術，亞洲第一 全球第三｣ 台灣的工程品質、台灣人的公德心、友善、人文素養；台灣人的志工密度世界第一(義警、義交、義消、學校導護媽媽、宗教慈善團體、學生的假日志工等.....) 2014.07--美國網站「Lifestyle9」根據美國FBI的數據，列出全球10大最安全的國家，台灣僅次於日本，取得全球第2。 依據美國聯邦調查局資料統計結果，台灣榮登2014年全球10大最安全國家的第2名，其中評語大讚台灣人--【友善、熱心、誠實，因此就算夜晚女性出門在外，也不會感到膽戰心驚】。 2015.02--經濟與和平研究所（IEP）公布的全球和平指數（Global Peace Index）網路票選2014-2015年全球十大安全國家排行出爐，台灣奪下第2名，僅次冠軍冰島，名次勝過第8的日本和第10的新加坡。 【台灣以低竊盜、犯罪率和暴力案件拿下第2名。台灣人善良、友善，在你開口前就會伸出援手。觀光客在台灣不會遭遇任何暴力，也不用擔心。台灣是個很棒的地方，有眾多美麗景點，因醫療、經濟自由、教育、人文發展等衝高排名】。 2016.07.18台灣為全球唯一偵破東歐ATM盜領集團案，獲得國際關注，自2013年起，俄羅斯、東歐、日本等國，超過50家銀行被駭客盜領集團攻擊，損失超過300億元，台灣是第一次偵破此案，凸顯出台灣警察辦案效率與世界級的破案能力。 2016.08.30--全球最大旅外人士網站InterNations公布；台灣擊敗全世界66國家與城市榮登全球最適宜居住寶地。創辦人齊克（Malte Zeeck）指出，台灣是今年調查的大贏家，在生活品質與個人財務兩項評量中皆拿下第一。 旅台近10年的宜家家居（IKEA）集團董事、瑞典籍的凌思卓（Martin Lindstrom）稱讚，「台灣非常容易讓人有家的感覺」。台灣的自然景色、物價與生活品質的平衡，讓居台外國人感到滿意，相較於其他亞太區城市，台灣的飲食與社交成本對外國人來說，絕對可以負擔，惟房價已走高。 調查顯示，85%居住在台灣的外國人對財務狀況感到滿意，全球的平均數為64%。另外，醫療品質、可負擔的健保體系與整體環境，即使學習中文不易，也能輕易和當地民眾溝通，都是讓台灣獲得好評的原因。 該排行榜倒數10位則為科威特、希臘、奈及利亞、巴西、沙烏地阿拉伯、埃及、莫三比克、卡達、義大利與坦尚尼亞。 大陸因為空氣汙染嚴重，排名48，較去年下滑10位。香港則因房租與物價高漲，自2014年排名第10大幅滑落，排名44。新加坡也因物價難以負擔，跌出10大，排名第13。 InterNations是全球最大旅外人士交流平台，230萬會員可在網站上分享全球390城市的工作、定居等生活經驗。 2017.03.17--旅外人士網站「InterNations」評選了「世界上最友善的國家」前10名，而台灣獲得90％的好評，榮登第一名寶座。「InterNations」調查了來自67個國家，訪問了1萬4千多名旅客，其中發現，南半球國家通常會被認為比北方國家更熱情、友好。根據2016年的統計資料顯示，台灣最終榮登友善國家第一名寶座，「90％的移居者都給予非常高的評價」，遠高於其他國家的平均65％。他們認為台灣人熱情、好客「如果你在台灣打開地圖，大家就會上前幫助你達到目的」，甚至有三分之二的外國旅居者曾考慮過「永遠留在這個太平洋小島」。 3 週前
