我都糾結過, 早年有個英國同事講Cheers, cheers mate 我唔係好get 到。宜家美國同時又成日take it easy 黎say goodbye。個個地方都有少少唔同文化同差異, 施母個舊同事o係香港自然要adopt 下Have you had your lunch haha 簡單黎講, 其實自然就可以了~~ 普遍我地香港人都係驚錯, 驚俾人笑, You are welcome, How are you 其實都無問題的。到你同人交流左100 次, 你就唔會個fd pass salt 俾你都thank you so much 了. 最重要係放膽交流, 交流冇分對錯的~

"Hi" or "hello" are interchangeable when greeting friends, acquaintances, sales clerks, cashiers or restaurant servers. " Hey", "heya" or "what's up" are slangs that the younger ones, aged 15 to 24, might use, with their peer group, more likely between males rather than females. If a cashier asks "Would you like to donate $2 to xxxx (charity) today?" - a more polite response should be "Sorry, not today" or " I did already". A polite way of turning down a cashier's offer for a store's credit card or a store's loyalty card could also be "Sorry, not today" or "I've got too many cards already".

Your greetings are definitely so different from in UK. I rarely hear people saying Hi there / Hey there. We use Hiya, you alright? / Hi how are your? Most people use "Queens' English" and different county has their own slang.

To reply Aiyabebe：The word stressed was used instead of the word emphasised！I never intend to use “address”。This illustrates people of different background have different colloquial habit 。 Thank you for pointing this out， I too，have learnt a lesson。

我想問如果去shopping 時想問個sales有無size或攞嘢，應該點問先有禮貌，我試過比人黑面。 或者有時帶小朋友去公園玩撞見隣居應該點？

Mostly we will called welcome my next customer ... hi good morning or afternoon ... how r u ....? Especially due the COVID-19 & 6 feet social distance ! 因為服務完每一個客人，一定要 disinfecting 客人過的 keypad 和counter b4 the next customer ！禮貌上as a front & end customer services 盡量不會令客人站在前等候 cashier 而是等待著.客人..... 可能美國和加拿大有些不同，香港現在D服務態度已經改進好多了，但好多時是服務人員的發音未能第一時間明白講什麼?。多謝 Joey 和 Greg 分亨👍😃😷！！現在疫情下好自然有人行近D，都自動彈開。好多時只是搖遠揮手，甚至乎 在 face mask 😷 蓋著口面，連 how r u? 對方都聽不到... what? Say again........😷😷😷！

Agreed. Say "Pardon me" when you are not 100% certain if you've heard exactly what the other person has just said. They will be pleased to repeat what they've said.

英國通常用 hiya :)

捐錢我一定會講"next time", 自己覺得聽上去同講都舒服, 特別用得多係食飯例如人地問食唔食甜品我都係會咁講, 完全無直接拒絕或無禮感 P.s. 英國講得最多係"u alright?" "u alright mate?"

啱啱移居加拿大仲未適應美加英文....好似好冇教養咁🙈同埋啲人太鍾意small talk....香港人文化始終英國較接近

我住在香港，沒有這些問題。

好想學好英文去加拿大、但又好難學

可唔可以教啲服務員嘅實用英文？移民去到加拿大可能會首先做啲前線嘅工作😁

我唔知係咪因為我係加拿大大，平時都好少會話no或者yes。通常休息好口語咁話nah或者yea（係咪因為我太young😂😂

在西方文化中沒有跟鄰居說「請多多關照，打攪晒唔好意思」這種話的習慣。這是中國和外國文化的差異。
