Van Hool Evolution (1947 - 2021)
Van Hool is a Belgian family-owned coachbuilder and manufacturer of buses, coaches, trolleybuses, and trailers.
Most of the buses and coaches are built entirely by Van Hool, with engines and axles sourced from Caterpillar, Cummins, DAF and MAN and gearboxes from ZF or Voith. Some production involves building bus and coach bodies on separate bus chassis from manufacturers such as Volvo and Scania.
Today, Van Hool of Belgium manufactures approximately 1,400 buses and coaches, and as many as 3,000 commercial vehicles annually of which 80 % are exported worldwide. With a workforce of over 4,500, Van Hool is a major bus manufacturer in Europe.

Drove three T927/RX models last month. One of them only a few months old, the others two and three years. Those were merely acceptable, the new one just utter shit. Not the way they used to be. They will not be missed.

In Budapest you can take a ride on them around 20 vehicles still in service :D
They can add a new chapter: VanHool was declared bankrupt yesterday in its country of origin (Belgium). The location where the buses are made is taken over by VDL Group, the one where the trailers are made by Schmitz Cargobull. Thanks to the eternal bickering over a legacy between the Van Hool's. 1600 to 1800 of the 2500 employees lose their jobs 😥

I live in the country where Vanhool is based, and Vanhool was always my favorite brand of busses. Very sad they got shutdown. Fun fact: I used to think the "H" in Vanhool were two "T"s, so I thought it was called Vanttool.
