Order "Re-Idolized (The Soundtrack To The Crimson Idol)" now! smarturl.it/Re-Idolized
For the first time EVER as originally intended - film and soundtrack united - released as one product!
RE-IDOLIZED - The Soundtrack to THE CRIMSON IDOL!
In 1992 W.A.S.P. released "The Crimson Idol". It's the story of Jonathan Aaron Steele, an abused child looking for love. Discovering music years later, he rises to international superstardom. Later followed by a catastrophic fall.
2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the original release, which is still considered to be the best album of W.A.S.P.'s career, and one of the greatest concept albums of all times! "The Crimson Idol" undoubtedly belongs in every metal head’s record collection. The album about the anti-hero Jonathan Steele was originally intended to be accompanied by a movie, with several hundred hours of film that were shot to create approximately 50 minutes of movie footage.
This film has never been released - Until now!
Napalm Records proudly presents "RE-IDOLIZED (The Soundtrack to the Crimson Idol)", the 25th anniversary of the iconic hit album plus the original "The Crimson Idol" movie on DVD and Blu-ray! For the first time EVER as originally intended - film and soundtrack united - released as one product!

One of the best parts of this is the fact I wasn't alive during the Crimson Idol's original release, so in a weird sense I was able to live seeing the Crimson Idol's release with this record (in terms of seeing Blackie's interviews, seeing the videos, the first day I got to hear the whole thing and the new songs were great additions too).

I like the the tighter sound and that snare sounds great. Love the bass as well. But I'd take Frankie's original drum performance over this one. This new one just doesn't have that intensity that Frankie brought on the original. The new lyrics are good but the original was raw and I felt the anger that Blackie was conveying in the first recording. Bassed on this single I think I'll stick to the original. The Crimson Idol is a great concept album.

I made a comment just the other night when a fellow FB poster put a pic of a new WASP album on there. I said, WHOA!!! Haven't heard that one yet but, in my opinion is the best metal album ever done by WASP was The Headless Children. I was mistaken. I was thinking about The Crimson Idol. It's just Blackie Metal straight, hard fast into your soul. Had me back in the 80's. Nothing else could beat it. Blackie makes no mistakes.

I'll will my throne away, to a virgin heir and Charlie's slave Jonathon: Murders, murders in the new morgue Murders, murders in the new morgue See old Charlie and the platinum armys Making me their boy Murders, murders in the new morgue Murders, murders in the new morgue He'll make ya scream for the cash machine Down in Chainsaw Charlie's morgue Charlie to Jonathon: We'll sell your flesh by the pound you'll go A whore of wrath just like me We'll sell ya wholesale, we'll sell your soul Strap on your sixstring and feed our machine Jonathon to Charlie: Ah - will it feed my hunger If I swallow lies right down my throat? Or will it choke me till I'm raw? And tomorrow when I'm gone Will they whore my image on? I'll will my throne away, to a virgin heir and Charlie's slave Charlie to Jonathon: Welcome to the morgue boy Where the music comes to die Welcome to the morgue son I'll cut your throat just to stay alive Ah, trust me boy I won't steer you wrong If you trust me son You won't last very long Charlie to Jonathon: I'm the president of showbiz, my name is Charlie I'm a cocksucking asshole, that's what they call me Here from my Hollywood tower I rule I'm lying motherfucker, the chainsaw's my tool The new morgue's our factory, to grease our lies Our machine is hungry, it needs your life Don't mind the faggots, and the ruthless scum Before we're done, son we'll make you one I'm the tin man, I've never had a heart I'm the tin man, But I'll make you a star I'm the tin man, I've never had a heart I'm the tin man, but i'll make me the star

What sucks is seeing the pix and videos that come out of Europe as he packs up and heads there for Festival Season every year as he flips America the bird,,,At first (just from me and my opinion) it was annoying,,Now it has almost become a solid "Piss Off Blackie"

Larry Baumgardner I do see his point - from personal experience I can say that being treated like a shitty bar band on home soil makes the whole thing not worth the effort. I get it, but for those of us who are dedicated WASP fans, it sure would be nice...

Larry Baumgardner but I agree it sucks seeing the shows and goodness of the Festivals. None of my favorite bands play in the states... 🤯🤬

No idea why this songs isn't on the top list for WASP. Great storytelling, deep meaning lyrics, amazing solo & chorus, etc. I'm not a WASP fan but this is their only song that wowed me

you're not into wasp so you want to tell wasp fans what to listen? hm, interesting, it's a bit like not being a drinker and wanting to teach a drunkard what's the best wine.

Many years have passed, but that change at 3:43 still gives me goose bumps. What a brilliant masterpiece this album was and how sadly unknown it is among the average rock listener. Anyway, there are some things that sound worse in this new version. The lyrics, as expected, have succumbed to the woke virus that is everywhere these days and had to be changed. The tom roll at 3:58 sounds much cleaner in the original version. I guess the years don't pass in vain and although Frankie Banali is a true BEAST there are some things that are difficult to repeat, and in the original version he did it just perfect. The solo at 5:49 is definitely much better in the original version, as a certain amount of Wah was used in the bendings, making it much more characterful and aggressive, not to mention that the fade out is infinitely better, making it gradually fade into the background. The new version sounds neater but definitely less exciting.
