Yeah, no manual in the 1.5L variant. Only DSG. I was waiting for that so badly. Now I'll just go ahead with Slavia 1.5 manual

VW Virtus will be the winner for 2022. We don't buy sedan these days bcz of ground clearance but now we don't see any problem with 170mm+ ground clearance. Sedan always comfortable compare to any SUVs..Skoda on the other side still not given a super name in market like VW did with Polo.

I'm getting my Slavia next week. Both Virtus and Slavia looks good but there are some bits in slavia where it needs to be improved. In Slavia, Black inserts on the front bumper and grille looks like piano black only in white and red colors. It does look like matte black in carbon steel . Where as it looks premium in Virtus. Then the ambient lighting strip is visible and looks flimsy in Slavia's dashboard. AC vents in Virtus looks a bit outdated as well.

@@deveshjoshi8325 I took Style 1.0L MT @16.4L OTR and its been a good experience so far. Clocked 16K kms in 14 months. Took 4 yrs service package . Servicing has also been hassle free. Satisfied with the ride and handling , dynamics and fuel efficiency. Few negatives which i felt was interior fit and finish compared to old gen VW and Skoda .. then the rear seat comfort of slavia is not as good as compared to Honda city for long trips. GC of 179mm gives you confidence to ride on bad roads but the rear seat passengers might feel slighty wallowy in twisty roads. I might lower the suspension a bit... as many options are available now. Overall it's a good package.

Driven both Virtus was smooth and interior s of Virtus better than Slavia.Front looks of slavia is lit and rear view of Virtus is lit.I booked Virtus

Does the virtus have cooled seats like tje slavia? Which is the loghter car of the 2. I am asking about the 1.5 top variant from both.

Volkswagen still design the AC Vent Knob that breaks quickly.

Seriously. We asked for replacing the Knobs. They said it is not easily replaceable and recommended to continue with the broken ones. None of the AC vents have the direction adjusters !

My 8 year old 60,000 km polo still good as new nothing has broken. Never faced any issue with ac vent.

I'd rather just wait until Skoda reveals their Monte Carlo variant.👍

Beautiful comparison by Ameya of these two brothers of the same family..... Guess the Virtus wud be the sportier one with drive as the highlight of tbe car vs the slavia which wud be softer sprung for a more relaxed drive..... Eager to watch your review of the virtus soon

Virtus delivers on both quotient as far as Sporty looks and premium feeling conscerned inside out. But Slavia looks good on the outside but interiors are flimsy. Coming to driving dynamics we don't know how virtus drives till now.

I guess both the Skoda Slavia as well as the Volkswagen Virtus get a 6 speed Torque Convertor in 1.0L section and a DSG in 1.5L section. How can you say DCT for both of them?

Would like to know, will it come with a 1.5L manual? The cause came across some community blog 1.5 is only available in DCT not manual?

The VW Virtus by "virtue" of its flat bottom steering, gives better flexibility for the driver for seating and ingress-egress.

Will Skoda India launch the Slavia VRS or RS ?

I like the Virtus exterior better but the Slavia Interior more.

Globally maybe, but in India it's the Skoda which is the more upmarket brand . Skoda was introduced to India with the Octavia and cemented its reputation with the Superb, Skoda is still associated in the people's mind with these two cars. Volkswagen in comparison is more know for the Polo and to some extent the Vento, VW's more expensive offerings never made much of an impact in India. There was a reason Skoda was asked to lead VW's comeback in India.

Will cancel my Virtus booking if they make the suspension any stiffer than Slavia, the soft suspension keeps it drivable in our pothole filled roads.

Suspension in virtus is expected to be little stiffer than slavia to provide better and sportier driving and handling. I booked slavia and test drove its 1.5 dsg, i did not like its handling, though sitting comfort is undoubtedly great due to its soft suspension. I did not like its 1 litre torque converter as it was too quick to move in bumper bumper traffic. In normal scenario, engine braking does the job but in slavia, I had to apply brakes many times which was uncomfortable. Slavia’s 1.5 dsg has better pick up once, you cross 2000 rpm. Below 2000 rpm, its acceleration is linear. I put slavia booking on hold and booked virtus also. Now waiting for virtus and accordingly decide which one to buy. Between slavia and virtus, it depends on your everyday use. If you sit at the back mostly, go for slavia or honda city and If you want driving pleasure, go for virtus.

@@tushargarg1336 I will be driving and not sitting at the back, I cancelled my Slavia booking and booked the Virtus only for its looks since mechanically both cars will be same. I currently drive the VW diesel Tiguan, I know the pros n cons of a stiffer suspension and to me who has 2 bulgings discs a stiffer suspension is no good. Skoda india realised that India is full of potholes a little late, thats why their earlier Octavia's had stiffer suspensions, the latest Octavia is a little soft, but its not soft enough for me. I can manage high speed on highways with softer suspension but I cant manage potholes with stiffer suspension, thats cuz I owned a BEAST for 10 yrs in the past i.e. Optra Magnum 😀

Vento pro max vs baby Octavia. My choice is baby Octavia.(1.5 in Manual)

Very nice comparison . What wrong Škoda did is horrible base variant Bro’ is that an Alto ? See the handbrake area . So cheap No rear AC What the hell Škoda . Just add more price and give base variant some basic layout and features

Gloss black on bumper is not some sporty sporty. It's so difficult to maintain you can imagine.

What about the ground clearance? Slavia rocks any other sedan or hatch backs in that segment...curious if Virtus too have such great ground clearance!!

I have test driven slavia was really impressed but the interior fit and finish was really bad looks very cheap and plasticy

Give me Virtus any day. I love Skoda (I own a 1.6 petrol Rapid and have gone all over South India with it). But in the case of Slavia, that highly aggressive looking front grille spoilt it for me. It looks too loud. Whereas the front grille of Virtus makes it look understated yet powerful. And then, I heard that Virtus 1.5 GT in sport mode. Vrooom, vrooom, man! That floored me!
