VW Up! GTI gets a ITG air filter and the JBS Turbo intake pipe!

Fitted a performance panel filter and a turbo intake elbow to my Up! GTI. This is future proofing my car for future mods such as a remap. Both parts help get more air into the engine which should help make a little bit of power however running the stock ECU set up its hard to notice any difference.

Continuous subtle improvement and not OTT RickyGTi is good like the approach Mine is a High spec stock car I Tungsten Grey bought new April 2019 after owning a dealer demo to bridge the initial long ordering lead time in the early days post UK launch. Love this car to bits.15000 miles and his just the 2nd car for tanking around the Cotswold twisty stuff of M4/M5/M50runs such fun to be had as in contrast to my GolfR . Keep up the good work and have fun.

I probably can agree on that. Owned a Golf V GTI DSG, still have an NC 2.0 but the UP comes the closes to the Peugeot's 106 GTI's I had. Really would not know which car I would rather have. Maybe an A110. Hate heavy cars.

Is there any difference between the JBS Elbow and the one from RacingLine?

The JBS tuning Stage 1 remap. I visited them in Chesterfield, in Sep 2019, with my March 2019 Up Gti. Their rolling road showed i had 116hp from the factory, and after the remap, i had 143.7hp. Ive installed a K&N filter, a Milltek Non resonated exhaust, and the Racingline Turbo elbow. The car performs brilliantly, and ive had no issues or mechanical gremlins, the car just feels so different, and is a dream to own and drive. The only downside to the modifications, is the inferior fuel economy. Trying to drive the car, without using the turbo, is a challenge, when it was easy before. I was getting an easy 60mpg and more, but the car is now only getting around 55mpg. The non resonated Milltek, is surprisingly quiet, not at all noisy, but the Turbo elbow, that's the essential item, the transformation in the engine is instantly noticeable. Such a straightforward modification, but the difference in the response from the engine, is instant.

@@peterlewis3540 Don't what the hell our Brazilian coders are doing, but here in Brasil you somehow can get a up TSI, stock making 105/100whp, get it mapped, get to 130whp and get better mileage 😂

Don't understand alle these mods. First thing I did: change tires to 205/40/17 Continentals . Huge difference. Second: remap on 98 octane. Huge difference. Third: Bilstein B14. Huge difference. You can spend thousands on minor differences but... why???

With supporting mods it allows you to get more out of the car when it does get remapped.

@@RicsCars yes probably. But many sell the car after all the modifications are done, and it's impossible to sell the car unless it's back to original. So... only add high quality materials that really make the difference. Not the mods that make 0.1% difference.

Apart from the essential Stage 1 remap, the two most notable modifications that made a significant difference on my car, was the non resonated milltek and the Racingline Turbo Elbow. Since the Up Gti has two filters on the engine, a particulate filter, and an emissions filter, these almost cancel out any noise from the non resonated exhaust. There is a very slight drone to the exhaust note, but its very subdued, and its hardly noticeable. and after a while, you do not notice it, but it transforms the way the car performs.

@@peterlewis3540 I know people that removed the Milltek because they went nuts from the sound. I once put a Magnex exhaust under my P 106GTI and is was terrible. Yes faster but not worth the sound. UP: I added sound dampening in the trunk, removed the sound actuator. No, don't like noise.
