The fuel pump is new now I bought more than 2 fuel pumps but its keep on jacking while I am driving sort of it doesn't have petrol it even switches off

It is in the fuse box below the dashboard, figuring which one it is is also another issue, best to consult and Auto electrician about this Dougie.

hi there, I own a 1997 2.5l VW Caravelle, it was running just fine but then started cutting out after about 1 hour of driving, after changing the thermostat it ran a bit better but cut out on a decline while driving, this made me think it was the petrol pump. Upon replacing the petrol pump it started on the first try but now splutters, it won't idle and cuts out when I rev the engine... Why would it do this and what could the problem be?

There are several possibilities, check the plastic pipes going to and from the fuel filter for kinks this sometimes happens when the filter is changed, due to the awkward location of the filter, also check the fuel filter for blockage. Some of the 2.5s have to be bled on the fuel rail to get rid of air especially when you have run out of fuel or worked on the fuel system. There is a massive round plastic electrical connection in the engine bay that goes through the metal, there are many wires in this junction, so make sure the plastic connection is not loose this sometimes causes similar problems. It could also be a rotor or cracked distributor cap, a coil breaking down, or even a distributor itself that is faulty.

Please help i have the same problem but mine runs and then after some time it cuts when i rev it and sometimes makes some misfiring sound on the exhaust then it dies eventually

Check your fuel filter for blockage, it could also be the ignition system, a faulty distributor, rotor, cap, or coil.

Greetings from Bergvliet. I noticed that on start up the engine idle drops down quite low and after a few seconds it rises up to normal speed. Is there a way to fix this? My family had one of these kombis from 2002 to 2004 and the engine did the same as in this video.

Okay. Thanks. Well, we don't have that type of kombi any more. We currently have a 2000 model Caravelle T4 2.5tdi. We bought the car in 2004 and we still have it now.
