VW Beetle Handbrake Adjustment
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Well, in this video I decided to go through the process of handbrake adjustment. I couldn't find any videos showing this topic specifically so decided to break it down into an easy to understand step by step process. I referenced three separate VW manuals as well as various brake related videos depicting other aspects of brake work to come up with this step by step guide.
This video is for those whose brakes are functioning correctly and just need to make an adjustment due to cable stretch of some slight brake wear.
I tried to cover it in enough detail so that those who have never done any work on these cars can at least be able to complete the task without issue. It's a simple straight forward job that I believe anyone can do.
Cheers,
Feel free to comment - good or bad.

This was exactly the information I was looking for... now I guess I have no more excuses left as to why I shouldn't mess with the handbrake adjustment!
Thanks man! Currently at 11 clicks, gonna bring it back to 4-5 😎 great vid
Thanks just what I was looking for.
Good vid man. To the point, clear video, no (I'm a funny guy) dialog.

gris vasquez Bumpers? I currently don’t run “bumpers” but if you’re referring to my ‘T’ bars they are custom welded ones. Easy to make but they are quite common. I believe Empi makes them as well. Glad you liked the video.
The screenshot from the Haynes manual of the star positions ... I assume those views are from underneath the car, looking at the backing plate, correct? So for example, the Left Front, the stars are at the 9:00 position, towards the back of the car, correct? Because my front drums were opposite, with the stars pointing towards the front of the car... my back drums matched the diagram though
👍
