Great Video Guys. Im from New Jersey in the US. I've had all three generations of the Beetle. 74 Super Beetle (or 1303) that I currently have, 1999 "New" Beetle GLS (sold in 2008), and 2012 Beetle. I recently sold the 2012 Beetle for a 2017 Jetta GLI. It is amazing how far automobiles have come. A fact that is brought to my attention when I go from the GLI to the 74 Beetle. However both have a way of making you smile when you drive them.

Autogefühl, Thomas you would be good at this, even with the negative points you always try & be positive with them. Currently own a 2015 Twingo TCe with good breaks, I borrowed a 1999 Ford Ka with no EBA or ABS & no power steering, lovely car but was a shock when stopping it, was a heart stopping moment. We are so spoilt with modern cars 😊👍

I have a 2010 new beetle. Like the look of those better than 2012 up

The beautiful type 1 is to die for, i think my red 2012 hardtop last gen Beetle is the greatest homage ever to a reproduction of a classic car, the interior so closely mimics a classic type 1 and the exterior pays respect as well, everybody knows i'm driving a Beetle. At nearly 70 i dote on my red Beetle in hopes to pass it on in 15 years to one of my grandchildren and then..... I will get my actual type 1😊!

Beetle makes Life more relaxed and Happy :)

I absolutely LOVE♥️♥️♥️ the Beetle! It's the ONLY car I drive, I've had four red Beetles (by the way, the matching glossy red interior details are NOT too much. LOL! 😂). My favourite model is the "New Beetle" (1998 - 2011). Unfortunately, the most recent model doesn't even look like a Beetle any more. 😥 Even more devastating for me, is that they have stopped making my beloved Beetle! 😭 🇨🇦

Maybe Volkswagen should do another re-think and continue with a Beetle EV version instead of phasing it out some time soon.

Really awesome video guys, as always. I really like air cooled VWs. Make me think life can be so much more simple. I'm planning on buying a 60s Kombi(or Bus) some day. Here in Brazil they are not that hard to find, but as the bettle, they are getting more expensive as they become more classic.

AUSGEZIECHNET! An excellent review, Thomas! You are the right person to be doing this. I have only ever owned VW's...also my family as well. My first VW was a 1960 Typ 1 and I have owned 5 other Typ 1's since. (Currently my second VW is a 1963 Typ 1.) All other VW's I owned were varied. Siroccos, Passats, Jettas, GLIs, GTIs and my current new car is a 2018 GTI Autobahn. Eagerly awaiting to trade the GTI in for a MK8 2022 GTI! (MK8 GTI not for sale in North America until Fall 2021.)

The 1984 mexican version of the beetle has 44 HP. The 34 HP version vas the 1200 cc. The mexican and brazilean beetles had a 1600 cc engine. I live in a city with high hills that modern Mazda and Kia can´t climb. Believe me, with 44 HP on the beetle you don´t need to get out the car and push it on a hill.

Many thanks Thomas for entertaining video. Enjoyed the 1972 orange cabrio Beetle 1302 from 'VW Classic Collection'. When lowered, the cabrio pram-hoods are much nicer without the cover! 26:10 - regards to Katharina.

The VW "Käfer" is a real legend 🏆😍 A very interesting Review for people like me who are way younger than the first generation of the VW "Käfer" or "beetle" XD The review shows clearly the hype of this legendary car 👍 I hope the next generation of the beetle will be *a little bit* more adult so that more customers go for this model 😅

You must be a bit over 6 ft. 😃 The backseat was just enough room ( after the engine space allowance ) to accommodate 2 children or 2 small adults. As far as the old Bug goes, people who loved the car, made it work. They adapted to the constraints. Great video !!👍 ❤the bug.

I doubt there will ever be another automobile as was Germany’s Volkswagen was for years cheap reliable if used easy does it serviced maintained properly driven we need to use them properly not abuse them don’t get me wrong I was never perfect tho I learned in life somethings easy does it more so thank you

I prefer the original earlier design from the 50's. I don't care for the new beetle. I owned 2 of them. Never really liked them. I really love the latest version. I own a 2017 bottle green and I love it!

The newest one is kind of cool, but i'd really like an old one.

Naturally the latest model won't rattle as much on your test drive because it's a new car. The earlier model has been on the road more. I'm curious to see how much the current model rattles when ITS 20 years old as well. Either way i enjoyed your video

Lol. I always joke my 2018 Beetle is my "safety Beetle". Constant beeps for warnings of things. Haha. My 2003 New Beetle is more like "whoooooooo!" and doesn't care about safety so much. So funny.
