Apart from the 5 speed gearbox, I explain the key differences between the VTR250 engine and the Spada VT250 engine, What i plan to do very soon with the spada and the beginnings of an EFI conversion! Enjoy =D
Differences:
Valve springs - Spada duel springs, VTR250 single spring
Heads - Are different when it comes to positive crank case ventilation, and some minor differences with aesthetics but could possibly be swapped between? Very very similar!
Cams - Not sure, they seem to look very close to each other... but not sure at all. Most probably different because of the different RPM limits?
Ignition pick up - VTR250 only has the single ignition pick up (Cast for only one mount - Very hard to modify for two pickups), so you can put the ignition from the VTR250 to spada, but NOT spada to VTR250!
Gears - VTR250 5speed, Spada 6speed.
Compression - 11.5:1 (same on both)
RPM - 11500RPM VTR250, 13500-14000RPM Spada
Clutch - Stiffer clutch springs in Spada. Could possibly be swapped?
Sensors seem to have same mounting positions and threads etc so can be swapped between engine blocks (other than Ignition pick up) but are different! and have different electrical connections.

another point, the number of links in the timing chain MC15E has 128 as opposed to 130 links
Greetings! On my 2003 vtr250, there is a vt250 spada head on the rear cylinder.
I have a big problem to set the timing chain
So is it possible to run the efi from the later vtr on the earlier spada engine?
Those gas pipes are just PCV relief pipes, on the spada engine they just vent to atmosphere out that pipe on the side of the cylinder head, instead of re-circ'd into the intake. I always wanted to put a new vtr250 engine into my old 1983 VT250FD but was too scared it wouldn't work with the airbox or something misaligning etc.. Not to mention the 83 is just ancient and its not worth it anyway.

is there any mounting modifications that must be done to use the VTR250 engine into a VT250F? since MC08 has different mountings but is also more powerful...
Would it be possible to mount the fuel injection spada engine onto a 1989 vtr and replace the carb?

TheInterceptor yes, or you could just add the EFI if you’re industrious enough
