Marc Chantereau, Pierre-Alain Dahan, and Slim Pezin were three top session players in France who, inspired by the worldwide success their French colleagues Marc Cerrone & Alec Costandinos were enjoying, decided to jump the disco wagon and went to London's Trident Studios to record an album in March 1977, taking the listeners on a stunning VOYAGE across the world. It took a while, however, before it started taking off internationally. In February 1978, Billboard Disco Columnist Vince Aletti reviewed an import copy, saying: "Voyage promises to be one of the season's major disco releases", three weeks before it was released on Miami's TK label in the US. It sailed to the #1 spot on the Disco Charts, and was quickly signed by Germany's Hansa label, where the tribal chant percussion tune Point Zéro was released as the first single to no success. In the UK, the panoramic opener From East To West was released as a single in May and reached #13 in the charts. Hansa released that single in July. Their second album, Fly Away, followed towards the end of 1978, to equally ecstastic response in the clubs, but their third album, released in 1980, flopped. After One Step Higher, released early 1982, the Voyage was over, but the first two albums have left an immaculate disco legacy.

heard it the first time in France when playing an international under 19 soccer tournament, bought it over there in a import record store and took it back with me to Holland. No one new it by than and everyone hearing the sound loved it. I still play it, and it keeps giving you that positive vibe 😊

GREAT MUSIC. VOYAGE HAVE ALMOST THE SAME THEMATICS AND RYTHM WITH MORE EVOLUTION. SADLY, THEY DIDN'T PRODUCES MORE LIKE THIS.
Yes I was there in the summer of 77 when this awesome disco dance music appeared I especially love the Scottish machine turned into sqaure dance I still live in sanfrancisco a bit older now!!!
unique concept, together with very good ideas to represent different countries' styles- plus having two drummers makes this high quality production a never ending joy for ears and feet :-)😃👣

"From East To West" is one of my favourite disco masterpieces, together with "The Souvenirs" from the second album! I would also like to point out absolutely stunning quality of the original recording as well as the production. Sometimes I use these two tracks to test the quality of Hi-Fi equipment, particularly the speakers.

When I was on the QE2 we started our staff world cruise disco of with this record and soviner still got original lps. Fantastic.

Hi Stephen, Sylvia Mason-James did not sing on this album. From East To West is sung by Stephanie De Sykes, Kay Garner & Bobby McGee.

It is not known with certainty. There is an Italian TV performance where someone comments it is her dad, some Guy Alexis from Martinique, who sang it, but he is not credited on the record.
