Vosteed is an ex Kizer engineering who’s doing big things himself in China. Yue has his own manufacturing facility over there and just has US folk representing his gear. He’s a very clever operator 😎

My Stallion series chef knife came paper towel cutting sharp, beautiful geometry, good blade shape, and some of the best fit and finish I have seen in a knife in that price range and higher. I am going to get the Nightshade at some point, but can't yet due to the finances. Keep up the good work Cedric! Your testing and thouroughness is much appreciated! Sincerely, JS

I have a Raccoon in orange G10, with an axis lock. I bought it as a working knife for the garden/yard and it's been fine for that. It wasn't expensive so I'm not scared of using it for rough work. Orange so I don't lose it.

I have this model in green with a gold thumbstud as well as their axis lock version in green and black. I actually had to use their warranty on the button-liner lock version (which was more expensive in the US). The first model I got didnt lock up even with vigorous opening. An almost imperceptible burr on the mating surface of the liner lock prevented it from sliding over the blade enough. They were very good with warranty services and were interested in the problem. I ended up fixing the model by taking it apart and sanding the surfaces just a little and it's been great since. My axis lock version (which is slightly less fidgety than the button) also had fhe pocket clip get bent to heck like yours. Maybe they shouldn't do that big cut out. Overall they're great knives, I'd equate to Kizer which im a huge fan of. On the button version I did notice that if you're stabbing down with a reverse grip, your pinky can hit the button and the blade can close when not desired.

I got Raccoon over a year ago. It scratched my itch for button lock flipper which is how i do a knife if i want nothing irritating extra or different. The best so far as been Benchmade 496 Vector, which was the last Benchmade i could get excited for. I wish to the heavens they'd put out straight spine Stretch 2 (non XL) in SPY27. THAT would be my go-to! No other folder is as right feeling and works so good. I don't wanna mess up the Ivory FRN one and the K390 one is too boss to carry willy nilly

I was reading through some of the comments and all I saw on your comment at a glance was, "I bought a raccoon and that scratched my itch." I thought, "dang, raccoons run around everywhere, I don't think you need to buy one. Nevertheless, you must be a nice person for buying that furry little critter 🦝." Then I thought, "ah, I'm a big dummy." I had no idea (obviously) a knife existed called the Raccoon. Sometimes I surprise myself with the things I think. Though a raccoon would be a cool pet. 😄 Take Care! Edit: I have no idea how I missed the name of the knife in the video. It's the title.😂

I have found similar results from 14C28N and Nitro V in terms of rust resistance Strange though, as the “statistics” of 14C28N, having less carbon and more chromium then Nitro V on average, would have you believe that it would be MORE resistant to oxidation Perhaps Nitro V is a step purer then 14C28N? An odd thing, as 14C28N is already very pure for an Ingot steel But maybe that .1% of Vanadium is doing more work then expected of such a small amount of carbides As small amounts of Vanadium is used to refine the grains of Carbides in steel All in all, I’d go for Nitro V over 14C28N if given the choice

The bland design and how you describe it is why I don't particularly buy these knives. They're all the same thing and no better than what I already have. Not necessarily worse but not different enough for me to buy. I think that's why spyderco is my favorite company. There isn't any other company or designer that goes after the Glessers' style and I happen to really like it. Maybe out of respect or maybe because the cookie cutter stuff just sells better idk. I like my spydercos, clip points on traditionals, and a good drop point like a sebenza or the kabar wrench knife I just bought because it's cool and different and adds something to my very small fixed blade collection.
