Depends on your preferred way of deployment. Thumb opening often is easier with studs, spydieflicks easier with holes. I am in team thumb-hole rather. Also because there is nothing in the cutting path. Multiple deployment is my fav, though.

I have the original full-size flipper. The blade is such a beautiful shape I hate the thumbhole disrupting the design. I also have the mini with the thumb stud and its great.

A hole in the blade can do nothing but weaken the blade

That’s a good point. Not that these are hard use knives so not sure I would worry too much about it on this type of knife.
