Whew! This was a big day for our shop LS550 Mustang we call Trigger!
After setting a Personal Best at this track in October 2023, we have been back several times chasing improvements. Lots of testing, updates, fixes, but finally on this hot summer day, we got the 1.4 second time improvement we wanted to see. A new front splitter, tuning changes, traction control and more. So happy to have won the 2nd Apex Lap Attack event of 2024 - two more to go!
This was our first time to run the MSR 1.7 CCW in this car on 335/345mm Hoosier A7s, which helped boost lateral grip from the Yokohama A052 "200TW" tires from 1.5g to 1.7g lateral on the Hoosiers. We put in this 2 lap stint in the first of five sessions that day. I went out again in session 2 (81°F) and slowed down 3 tenths, then parked the car for the rest of the day (it crept up to 94°F).
