    Yeah, it's stupid. You just illustrate yourself as being a greedy animal. Sure mistakes are make and everyone is looking to make money but don't rub it in the guys face. It's the dealer today and a retail customer tomorrow. Sure you made 40k on this deal but you lost me as a possible customer, how many more people feel the same? That 40k doesn't look so good now.

    Actually not really surprising, vintage is really tough. Back in the day there where so many variations and also AD's would allow customers to modify watches when purchased when ordering from Rolex. Unlike today where everything is set in stone from the manufacturer. This likely happens more than you would think amongst dealers that don't specialize in vintage but if you keep it low key and not make someone look like a fool they would chalk it up as a learning experience not a humiliation.
