Before the gearbox problems it was the best car i ever had. Excellent motor, handling and technology, awesome design, very confortable. But at 29k km (around 18k miles) i had a problem with the gearbox that left the car undriveble for 2 months, it was a total nightmare, the dealership didnt know what was going on and kept sending the car back to me with the same problem, they said the it was fixed but 2-3 days later it started again and the car would run into safety mode and wont start anymore if turned off. After two months the solution i had was to change the full gearbox system, that costed me 55% of the car value (around 10k dollars in my country. It made me very sad because i was enjoying the car so much.

Wow. Sorry to hear you had problems. Which engine and gearbox type does your V40 have? And what year is it?

@@alanshah3018 Hi, its a 2014 volvo v40 with the volvo six-speed automatic gearbox, the motor is the 5-cylinder turbo (T4) with 180hp gasoline. After the repairs the car is working just fine again, but it costed a lot for sure.

This is year where I was able to buy this car, and I was able to file my retirement in bjmp.

The platform of this car is the outdated platform of the previous Ford Focus. I have several questions of the new platform CMA: -Will CMA platform have the same suspension as SPA platform: double wishbone in front suspension and multilink in rear suspension? or perhaps it'll be another copy of the boring Golf. -Will CMA platform use boron as SPA platform? -Will it have the same safety systems as Volvo XC90? I suppose that CMA will be a cheap version of SPA platform and it won't use the same technology, for that reason you are developing different platforms. Obviously the price of the next C40 will be high and the sales will be low. Regards.

You asked KZread to delete my last message, so I was right: This model is a copy of the previous Ford Focus and the next C40 will be a copy of the new Golf. CMA platform is a cheap version of SPA platform without its technology. Only several gadgets (radars and a big display) will be the difference between your next C40 and Golf and obviously you recognize that. Price will be high and sales will be low. Sad :-(.

+Jose Manuel The first statement he was talking about Is imho the one saying that your comment was not offensive, plus yes Volvo is using the Ford focus platform since they had to, they were part of the Ford group and it's a common cost reduction strategy to use the same platform for several models, I don't understand what is your point or the purpose of your comment, SPA and CMA are Volvo own platform and one may be cheaper than the other so what ? What is the probleme with that ?
