Спорт
The 2005-06 Volvo Ocean Race marked a historic shift, starting outside the UK for the first time and with the radical new Volvo Open 70 class. Challenges and high drama arose marked the 31,000 nautical mile journey around the world. ⛵️🌎
Notably, ABN AMRO TWO faced tragedy, losing crew member Hans Horrevoets. During Leg 7, they were also called on to rescue Movistar's crew after a catastrophic failure sunk the boat. ABN AMRO ONE, skippered by Mike Sanderson, clinched victory, leading to his iconic quote: “This is my Olympic gold, my Mount Everest, this is my childhood dream, to get to skipper a boat and win the Volvo Ocean Race." ⛵️🌊🥇
