I never imagined that I would ever see the day when car brands like Volvo would be described so casually as costing ~£100,000. There must be a lot of near millionaires that crave such a vehicle from Volvo. If only proper professional jobs had had the remuneration packages multiplied by the same factor that motor manufacturers have increased their vehicle prices by in recent times. Love the brand and the XC90 T8 Dual Motor, but hell the pricing and no doubt insurance, as well as the road tax ballistic increase once everyone (who can afford it) has gone electric. Why are you complaining? This car is obviously targeted for those who have the money. If you don't have £100,000, go for XC40, XC60? Besides, in a few years you can probably get this car for £60,000 second hand.

Nice review, I have a dual motor on order for delivery late this year but probably next. EV bashing is so old hat now and done by those who have never driven them usually. I have a Mercedes EQC currently and love it, just need something bigger, looking forward to getting mine.

Its a cracking car

Looks pretty nice with the leather - that gray cloth is what I expect in a $35K Honda, not a $100K Volvo So my electric 3 row SUV ranking still goes Rivian R1S, Lucid Gravity, Tesla Model X/Kia EV9 (tie), Volvo EX90. We'll see where the new Cadillac IQ slots in, maybe at the top aside from the ridiculous $130K starting price.

Looking forward to my car come in , Sadly will not arrive to the end of this year been I was the 3 rd one in the UK to order one .I have had 3 cx 90 in the past 6 years and my wife just pick up her 2 rd Volvo this on is XC 60 hybrid .she had full electric one before . But what to have one not fully electric

Think it's a 7 seater.

My 2017 v90 will do near 1000k range with a full roof box and boot and air con at full blast, has most of the same technology as this. Stick a full roof box and boot on this with air con going and they 600k notional range will be cut in half. And they call this progress

Depends how many times per week you drive over 600K in a single day? Also charging at home this will cost less than 10p per mile, with less servicing costs and less wearable parts. Not to mention the tax breaks being offered to people to purchase Electric.

I will skeptical about the claim that nobody died from 2015 in the previous version but after searching online I have to admit there are many sources claiming that's true. It was one of the most unreliable cars in the world. Owners were complaining about non-stop repairs that made them go crazy and eventually sell the car but hopefully with the electric one they will improve reliability.

I’m kinda picky about the screen being horizontal, that would make it skipable to me.

Another great review, thank you! The more I learn about new cars the more I’m convinced I won’t buy one. Seems the sweet spot for family cars peaked around 2020/21. I personally don’t fancy having pay-walls for features, expensive virtue-signalling interiors, lane departure and speed warnings that I can’t deactivate permanently, let alone the massive price!

0.28 is a better drag coefficient than 0.29

If someone points out a small mistake it's a bit OTT to suggest that they try to do better themselves. Maybe they think you would like to know. Volvo do produce the fabulous Xc90 and clearly this EV model continues with this quality. However, for me if I required a 7 seater I think van orientated vehicles are worth a look. The last one I had was the VW Caravel/Multivan, as an EV VW now produce the buzz. The benefits are that the van vehicles don't waste space o bonnet length which results I more cabin space and easier access. Just put it out there. Perhaps someone should run a comparison between 7 seat SUV versus 7 seat van.😮

Mark, Volvo are on it! Volvo is the 'E' brand. Looks amazing. Brilliant design and of course world leading safety and technology. [Did someone mention Tesla? I will! Couldn't hold a light to Volvo.The demise of Tesla cannot come fast enough! And whilst on my hobbyhorse, Kia this is how you design a 7 seater SUV ..not that dreadful K9 or whatever it's designated. Volvo and indeed Polestar are in another league. ] Really is the e SUV to go for. And yes like below it is in another world in terms of price! And yes you could buy a terrace house here in NW England. It is getting insane. Thanks Mark for this early access to this brilliant Volvo.

the EV9 is better value imo, but the ex90 is a better car. So depends I guess? Partial to both but dog mode/ventilation and Google OS in the Volvo pushed it over the edge for me.

@@XLoaferY EV9 has ”dog mode” aswell. You can leave the cars ventilation to a set temperature for hours without having to use the utility mode.

I prefer the current xc60/90 interior.. this is... 😬

If you want smaller get the EX30 for half the price.

Crazy that these Tanks of cars are only 120 euro to tax annually, yet they'll clog up the roads, take up more than a parking space, and will cause a high level of environmental damge to manufacture.....meanwhil the Grandmother in her 1.0 litre2007 Toyota Yaris is payiny almost 400 euro annually, to take up the littlest of spaces and sip on petrol!....Big battery SUVs are flawed!

Tax is based on emissions although I'm sure you know that. When/if EVs start to become the most popular type of car on the road you can be sure they'll change it to be based on something else to drum up more money.

I paid over 2k for a Sony Bravia nearly 20 years ago. Same TV is probably 800 new now. Not gonna waste my time on videos about news that everyone and their mother knows at this stage. Nobody is forcing you to buy any car.

If you do actually watch this channel, you’ll know that I’ve discussed price drops in EV vids so if you wouldn’t mind retracting statements commenting on what is my livelihood suggesting I’m not an honest reviewer thanks. I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate me walking into your job and telling everyone you’re useless at it and walking off but that’s in a sense what you’re doing here except you can anonymously post under a vague username and walk away again. Think about how your flippant comments that are anti EV (and that’s fine) and turning into a personal attack on someone who is trying to do this full time.
