The safest way to remove the bulb housing is to push it out from the top with one finger(the reverse of how you put in place, in the end of the video); while pushing you have to press the 3 flips on the long side of the housing, first from one side, then from the other. It's a bit tricky but it'll pop out without force, so you won't broke anything.

Thanks, I repleaced the original glass bulbs with w5w leds. I also added two small holes in the plastic bulb socket to let some heat dissipation

Even with seat fully pushed back I had an absolute nightmare getting those covers off. My glasses kept falling off as I tried to contort my body into a u shape while looking upwards and manoeuvring a small screwdriver to move those tabs out the way. Snapped a few off and had same trouble trying to clip the lenses back on. End result was worth it but what a horrendous fiddly job for s small gain. The lens covers are holding but are loose, I am going to affix them with some ultra thin 3M tape that I use for modelling.

Nice! Could you show us how to change the blub on side mirrors? (Under the mirrors, for the ground light) on 40-60-70-80 models from 2011 Volvo?

Yeah, I upgraded all interior lights in my Volvo S40N 2006 yesterday. It was a pain to replace those footwell bulbs. Broke some of the plastic tabs. Had a hard time to remove the bulb. Really annoying. Don't know what the proper way is? I pushed on its sides several times until it came out 2mm then I put my screwdriver in and pushed and wiggled... it was a mess. Quite easy to out in the led though. I saw that the bulb had melted the plastic armature a lot. The halogens are really hot. Map light armature was a pain too until I saw on youtube how to do. It was not the same as the facelifted version. Had to remove a cover and undo a screw. I broke a clip of course.. why not. Really happy with the results. Bright as heck. Blinding :) The only one left is the one in the glovebox. What is the correct way to put the footwell armatures back? I tried two ways. One of then snapped tabs the other one worked better but really fiddly to connect the connector. You need to mostly creep in under there with a light too see something. I stood on my knees. Was not fun at all.

Do you maybe know why my replaced LED light never turn off, even if I lock the car?

There's a little bit of current flowing even if lights are off. Not enough to see it with a standard bulb but enough to trigger LED. Check with CAN-BUS ready LEDs if problem persists.

zb naan you should put a resistor before the led bulb, this will prevent the constant little current to trigger the led when it should be off

Seems not happening to me. Mines are off. Using canbus LEDs

I broke the plastic lens. Any reference code or where i can get a replacement? I tried to find in Volvo Parts store, but without code is pretty difficult

I was near breaking mine too. Really fragile stuff. The plastic tabs and the armatures too. Annoying.

Try find used ones.. I guess oem are expensive as usual.

How did you get the original lamp out? Mine feel like they're soldered in place

I wiggled mines out from side to side with screwdriver. Until it got out 2 mm then i pushed and pryed on the bottom. Then it popped out. Push from side to side.. wiggling it out. Might work with a plier too to grab it and pull it out.

can led lights cause errors with the ecu engine warnings ?

I am reading around the net that it is possible... I have a C70 2007 T5 and a day after i installed blue LED in the footwells I had a transmission and Anti skid error. After checking around the net i am seeing that maybe it can interfere, my car is now with Volvo and they have no idea what the faults are as it has a new gear box etc w2 weeks. I dont wanna tell them about the LEDs incase it kills my warranty. Just thought i would ask if you have heard of this problem.

There's a long way from interior LED to engine or transmission controllers. I can't think of a way to damage you car (other than blown fuse) with a interior light bulb change.

Reference to buy it, please?

Any T10 LED should work. Look for color and brightness that suits you.
