I’ve watched a lot of ENP volunteer videos and yours is by far the best. Great photog skills and narration. You included a lot of information that others don’t. I enjoy details, such as what you told about Sri Nuan. Nice job!

If angels exist in some form, and I tend to feel they do, then Lek and her husband Derrick are among them here on earth. All blessings to them, always, for the wonderful haven they've created for all these beautiful creatures... elephants, dogs, cats, cattle, and primates alike.

I have watched several videos about this Park. I'd say 8 out of ten that I've seen, are by ppl who seem to be doing a "bucket list". They "ooh" and "ahh" in fascination of the elephants, then go on their merry way to who-knows-what. I've only seen the creator of the Park (Len) in a couple of videos. And, in my opinion, these are the ones who have gone to the Park and come away touched, and are different because of having been there. NOT saying everyone who goes is just "doing the thing" to "get it over with", but it does seem that most of the ppl in the videos I've seen are doing exactly that.

Too many of these dogs in an elephant sanctuary ... you have to create a separate area for dogs as dogs bark and stres elephants.

Clearly it felt threatened, and all the adults had to come "defend" it. Then the dog starts barking AGAIN and more people rush to the edge to watch. Sorry to be harsh but weren't you guys volunteers, not tourist?

@@emilystubbs5650 Hi Emily. The volunteers are on-site only for 6 nights and this situation occurred at day 2 or 3 around 5h30PM when everyone were on break before diner. Volunteers are not trained to deal with all situations because we are there to do shores without any contact with elephants (except when we feed them bananas). There is a dozen of dogs hanging around on the premises and they bark at elephants all the time (to protect humans) and elephants obviously don't like it. When Lek arrives with the herd at 5h30PM every day, they are free to roam around so this was a one time situation that we lived! You guys are lucky that we taped everything but I am telling you it was 100% more terrifying when I was there, sitting and talking quietly with another volunteer! When the dogs started barking the second time, a few permanent staff held the dog to make them stop barking (which they did!) This whole scene did not last any longer than what is in this video, so it was all very quick and short! Trust me, we were scared of the elephants, not the other way around :)
