I mentioned my brother the other episode in regards to body language on the court. I think it is very easy to look at someone and assume they are not trying or don't care based on body language. This is one of the hardest things to "get over" as a coach. You have to accept that not everyone may look the same when they compete and really get to know your player so you understand them. If you listen to Kenma speak you can see the benefits he brings to the team immediately.

I think also we're just over the hump most shows have where the first few need time to build up the main characters, the show's concept, etc. so if Adam enjoying it now it bodes well for the rest of the series. Of course, Sarah's reactions during the whole Oikawa Debacle have a special place in my heart lol Also kinda want reassure Adam about haikyu's volleyball plays growing more in-depth over time like Sarah told him a few episodes ago. The series assumes that the watchers are all volleyball noobs with zero base knowledge and sort of shows more of itself in pace with volleyball rules it feeds us? it does the whole 'you only see as much as you know' thing for us, and then the seasons progress and suddenly it takes what, 7 episodes to get through a single set😂 Love that the Bro-House is always in this nebulous but sure state of 'him? and him? Not Asahi.' lmao

This is like the first real match Karasuno faces, with all the roles in and against a full fledged team. So we get a treat of both teams, both analysis and both playing. Haikyuu is great at being almost neutral in matches to the point you maybe feel you want the other team to win also. And another great thing Haikyuu does for this first half of the season is that the episode will end when the match is halfway. Think of episode 4 or episode 9. That is bc the match's outcome is not what matters, the story and the characters matter, the moments matter. I remember I watched the whole 1st season in a day bc I was so hooked every episode

Several thing i will higlight in this episode.. *First you finally notice the Name of Karasuno coach is "Keishin Ukai" as the grandson of Ikkei Ukai.. *Second Maybe the jersey number in Japanese volleyball shows the hierarchy of the players... because the hierarchy use smaller numbers, that's why hinata suprised Kageyama get one number smaller than him. *Third For the record the Karasuno Jersey Number: 1 Daichi Sawamura (3rd Year, Captain) 2 Sugawara Koshi (3rd Year, Vice Captain) 3 Azumane Asahi (3rd Year) 4 Nishinoya Yu (2nd Year) 5 Tanaka Ryunosuke (2nd Year) 6 Chikara Ennoshita (2nd Year) 7 Kinoshita Hisashi (2nd Year) 8 Kazuhito Narita (2nd Year) 9 Kageyama Tobio (1st Year) 10 Hinata Shoyo (1st Year) 11 Tshukishima Kei (1st Year) 12 Yamaguchi Tadashi (1st Year)

CRYING, SOBBING, GIGGLING, KICKING MY FEEEEETTTTT I really love this episode because the boys meet the boys, and now they are making their own history! Watching the Karasuno boys make more friends in their volleyball world always makes me happy. The practice match between Karasuno and Nekoma is something I never stop talking about. I'm really excited and can't wait to watch Adam and Sarah react to the next episode!!!! The beautiful quote from Grandpa Ukai, the coach, always gives me chills. GO, MY BOY! YEAH, KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!! I think what makes the last scene interesting is how people react when Hinata can figure out how to hit the ball but doesn't score. You can see Ukai's big smile on his face, and he doesn't care even if it's not a point; he's just happy to see that Hinata can do it. The second one is Takeda; he reacts like it's a pity that Hinata can do it but it's not a point because he knows that Hinata tried so hard and wants to make it right. (When I watched this episode for the first time, I felt EXACTLY like Takeda, but for the second time, I felt like Ukai! It's so cool that Haikyu!! gave more perspective to feelings with characters!) And more importantly, Hinata's face when he said, "One more" Ohhhhhhh, that's so satisfying to watch!!!!! PS. Welcome Sarah to Thailand!!! Before, I though that Sarah always was feeling like she was a Karasuno player. She can apreciate other player and love then, but she was Karasuno teammate all the way. With Adam, I saw him like... A national couch, he saw the player neutrally, without sideing with a team because that was`nt important to the "job". But now, I feel Adam is filing more like he is sitting next to Ukai, being the couch of Karasuno and I love that!

I love the different perspectives that Adam brings. I am cutious of hwhat he would think about Ukai and how he would handle the team and his decision for them during the game. Coach Ukai is the GOAT for me ngl. This really makes me anticipate the drafting coz I am also formulating a dream team in my head and the players I would want in my team. If I am being honest they change a lot over the years because again I see the characters differently everytime I rewatch the show. There is always going to be something that you missed from the last time you watched it. And then there’s the main resource which is the manga that’s a whole new topic to discuss. 😂 Nost of the characters are really complex but Kenma is soooo different than you average athlete or player. He sees everything as an obstacle or a quest to finish and grind through. I could never. I’d quit halfway. 😅 and his friendship with Kuroo is so precious. Like they both needed each other.

Oh this is a great question. Without spending time crafting a through response I would highlight the following in no particular order. 1) It's one of the ultimate team sports. I think in volleyball its really easy to pick on a player if their skills are not upto the level of the competition. It's hard to hide bad players and they have a drastic affect on the outcome of the game. 2) It's a highly technical sport. There are many aspects of the game that you can't just overcome of physical abilities which I think also makes it unique. 3) Despite number 1 and 2 it's a sport you can play for your whole life and can be enjoyed at any level. These would be the first few things that come to mind.
