Volkswagen TSI Engine 3D Animation

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

www.eurocarnews.com - Volkswagen AG - The most effective means for reducing fuel consumption is so-called downsizing. By reducing displacement and thereby lowering frictional losses, a lower specific fuel consumption can be achieved, and this goes hand in hand with better efficiency. The innovative path to the future is the combination of supercharger and turbocharger. The supercharger compensates for typical drive-off weakness at low revs of purely turbocharged gasoline engines, while the turbocharger really puts out at higher revs. This combination of two types of chargers is unique among engines mass-produced worldwide.

I own a 2014 Jetta TSI. I never thought that I would ever buy a Volkswagen, but I was impressed when I rented one when my Cadillac was totaled by a dump truck that ran a stop sign. The performance of the 1.8 TSI engine in my opinion is sweet. There is impressive torque response from this little engine, I don't care what anyone says. It's a little jewel, and I would buy another one.

And won't do anything about it, even in warranty period !!! You pay a lot of money for a shaky engine, and what about the long term damage. The joke (bill) is on you.

These are good technologies. But they are new at all indeed. They are only applied in a different way of undestanding. I wish we coould see really outstanding new technologies that do not need the fossil fuels any more in large quantities and made by pioneering companies like VW group instead of recooking the old meals in a bit of different touches. The question pops out : Are they not doing it delibiretly ,in order not to try to change the world order builded on OIL? Real pioneers do not !

In some way you have right, in other you don't. That a car will become more fragile with more parts is not necessarly the case. It depends about engineering and quality of the components. Take the older Honda VTec engines, they run until today and are very complex in their construction. At the other side, THIS particular engine had heavy problems at his sart. The chain got blocked all the time and needed to be replaced all the time. VW claims they changed it to a belt, but they are already a numerous amount of faulty chaincars on the streets. The general lifespan of tsi engine is, although, in fact, shorter than conventional atmospheric engines. Something is although funny in your example, I'm asking myself how many moving parts a conventional V8 car has ? Must not be as much as an overengineered 4 cylinders ?!

VW TSI create at foremost a joy for garages and repair shops - for they have a steady income fixing the inferior stuff that you've got in your car. Miniaturized motors with highest temperature and pressure is bound to break. Last but not least, on max speed on the Autobahn Turbos suck more fuel than natural aspirated engines and on lower speeds Hybrids do a much better job in fuel saving. If you want to waste your money on a vulnerable engine with dull and boring cars, go buy Volkswagen. If you want to get reliable engines and modern looking cars, go for Honda, Toyota, Mazda.

Mazda, Toyota, Honda. So much cars all made in Tcheck Republic and parts of England in the same factory as the other brands. Mondialisation all made car manufacturer the same, you need to find a brand that is always producing in his home-region with home-made parts. And those are nearly at the verge of instinction. Tesla, Dodge, Daihatsu, GMC, Subaru, Ferrari... and probably some of the chinese things, that we never saw out of China. Mitsubishi builds in Vietnam and in Check Republic - VW produces all around the world with cheap components bought at every street market - GM... killed saab and nearly killed Opel and Subaru with desastrous reliability politic - Suzuki produces in the GM factory in Check republic - So do Toyota, but, although, build some other shit in England - The same with Ford No, we consumer are pretty screwed. I wish myself that somebody does very serious reliability tests on 200'000km old cars. Its really a need in our society.

I can't agree with you on that guy's. We have several VW at the army, and some of my friends have. Even if the engine are not always at fault, they are problematic cars. And the VW service is nearly as bad as mitsubishi's one. During the "chain engine scandal" that lot of you have already forgotten, the german CEO claimed in Germany that they would change the defective chain for free in all cars, and in France, they didn't wanted to do so until they where at the verge of lawsuit. They cheated with the emission of their cars. But, due to that, lots of customers can't actually sell their car in my country. VW promised mesures for making that possible, but, a week ago, they cancelled all mesures because they didn't work. It's obvious that VW will not try to fix the problem. They are playing on time until the cars are trashed and replaced, so they will have a minimum to change ; in the hope that those good swiss will not sue them. Those peoples are clowns.

The 1.4 TSI motors VW are failing miserably. I knew a lot of TSI motors with 20-30.000km has broken, My Scirocco TSI 122cv has broken with 2 years and 38.000km, with the max care driving, the great filming, refueling in the best petrol station in Spain 23.600€ for this? For I had a broken motor? If I know this before I had buying a HOnda or Ford or Bmw. debtah Before the whole TSI downsizing crap, VAG (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda) had a wide spectrum of engines avaible. 1.4l for small cars, 1.6l for most, a sporty 1.8l Turbo engine, but also V6 engines that fit into a Golf! Since the TSI engines gained popularity, they are the 08/15 engine, used even in a Audi A4! They are all the same, only different in their displacement. Also, the 1st and 2nd Gen TSI engines were unreliable crap... If you want a VAG car with something else than a TSI, you will need to buy at least a Audi S4 for over 40.000€....
