Its awesome. Cannot wait for VW to bring it back to the USA/North America. I want it to continue to have its conservative looks. If I want blinged out, I can always get a BMW/Mercedes/Hyndai, etc. It looks as much like a Passat, as an A8 looks like an A6, and an 750 looks like a 535, etc. Its a corporate thing. I love my '04 V8 Nocturne Aubergine Phaeton, alas, VW has discontinued that color.

@@serbianwolfgaming9623 It was pure egomania for the head of VW at the time (grandson of Ferdinand Porsche) to have it built. However, it was easier for VW to afford it, than Bentley. Also, the Touareg was co-developed with Porsche, and that was before VW owned Porsche. I could have kept mine forever, but I got spoiled by the modern electronics, like blind-side warning, adaptive cruise control, DVD map navigation, etc. MY current large sedan, I bought new to replace the Phaeton is a '17 Volvo S90. It has the electronic features that my Phaeton needed, and some that my Phaeton already had (4-zone climate control, for example.) I will always cherish the time I spent with my Phaeton.

This car just oozes subtle luxury and class

hom much does this car cost ? in euros. Its just so beautiful , you can really feel the luxury inside.

it starts at 70000 euros and can reach about 200000 euros (4.2 liter v8 full extras)

The whole sense of this car has been misunderstood. It has been build for giving you the experience of uncompromissely luxury. It has very simple lines on the exterior but it has sophisticated technologies in the interior, I mean comon have you ever seen a car the automatically closes the woodpanels to hide the vents ? exept from the Jaguar Xf which came out 6 years after the presentation of the phaeton !

YEs but they also want to reduce the size of the car so that it fits to an other class. The car will be positioned in the class of the audi a7 and mercedes cls. So it will probably be a 4door-coupe.

It probably didn't do so well, just because it's volkswagen branded. If it was audi or bentley branded I bet it would do well... but people forget that VW owns audi and bentley, to name a few, so I think it's time phaeton got some respect, as it is more than capable against any rivals on this class, be it continetal or A8s...

Just because it's on the same platform doesn't mean it's the same car. It's a really nice car, but your logic is flawed. The A8 is built on the same platform too, so even by your skewed logic your comment doesn't make any sense.

It may be better than the a8 and 760 but it's not better than the s600
