Thank you Andrew! It’s aged incredibly well and the facelift makes all the difference making it look more like the MK4 from the outside. I do quite like the quirkiness, and the fact that it’s unique and has parts from a few different cars. I bet it is interesting as you had both the 3 and the 4! 😁

@@Carcode It was a clever move by VW as the mark iii looked a bit bloated to me, although it was solid and drove well enough. But the mark iv was a lovely clean design and quality was excellent, as far as I remember 😵‍💫

Looks like you have found a nice summer car there. It looks in good condition and I like the color as well. Hope you enjoy driving it. 👍

Omg Welcome Wizzard 🪄🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️ That car is so you Sam - it’s a VW, it’s a Golf and it’s yellow!! You are going to absolutely love your summer trips out in Wizzard ❤ A convertible in Cumbria is just such a perfect match. Back in the late 90s one of my aunts bought a new Jeep Wrangler 4.0 soft top, everyone thought she was crazy, but I’ve so many happy memories in that car! We used to have the roof down every chance we got and our trips through the lakes and up to Scotland were just magical. I remember the smell of the trees up in Scotland and the crazy loud noises pylons make when you drive under them 😂😂 Wizzard looks in really nice condition, I don’t think thats a bad price you’ve paid either. You always seem like a safe and sensible driver so I can’t see you’ll loose any money, especially given how well looked after Wizzard will be. That jerking sounds like it could be fuel/ignition related to me, maybe gunk in the fuel lines or an injector or fuel pump getting tired. Best thing though on an older car like Wizzard is none of those should be crazy expensive to fix. I know you’ve said before that you’re not hugely mechanically inclined, but if you feel up to it have a look at the spark plugs, you can sometimes tell quite a lot from those. Either way I’ll have my fingers crossed for you that it’s nothing expensive when you get it checked out 🤞🏻 Can’t wait for more Wizzard content and some Up!dates. The content on your own cars is always so good 👏🏻👍🏻

Thank you Richard! Yes everyone has said it’s a very me car. That Wrangler sounds like a load of fun and definitely a gas guzzler! It’s certainly a unique experience driving with the roof down. He had a quick check over last week, but is going in again next week for a further look into what’s going on with the engine, as you mentioned the technician is suspecting spark plugs, we will wait and see 🤞🏻 I’m glad you are enjoying content on my own cars, they rarely get as many views as my new car reviews but are more personal and I enjoy making them. Another Up!date video is coming very soon. 😄

@@Carcode Yep the Wrangler was certainly a gas hog!! ⛽️⛽️⛽️😬 You mentioned Wizzard’s emissions - he practically hugs the trees compared to that Jeep 😂 I seem to remember it did about 15-18mpg on average, we took it to Salisbury once and it averaged 22mpg - I remember my aunt was quite happy about that 😄 It’s funny you mentioning its economy too, that unlocked a core memory 😅 She had it during the fuel shortage in 2000 and at the time you could only buy something like £10 or £15 worth of fuel. I remember we put that in and about 10 miles down the road the low fuel light was already beeping and flashing at us 😂😂😂. It was a heck of a machine though, the 4.0l i6 was so docile and unstressed but it could fairly move for a vehicle of its type when needed. I hadn’t passed my test then but did drive it off road on private land a few times, it was dead easy to drive. God I miss it 😔 Pleased it sounds like Wizzards problem isn’t going to be too serious - another thing I thought of was it could be worth looking at the fuel filter too. Most petrols say these are a lifetime filter, but they aren’t really. After 20+ years if Wizzard still has his original filter it could be a bit dirty by now! Petrol cars now often have them fitted inside the fuel tank, but Wizzard is of an age where he might have an external one which is much easier to replace. Looking forward to hearing the outcome though, plus some news about the Up! It’s genuinely a shame these videos don’t do as well Sam as they are brilliant - I guess it’s just your followers who see them so as the channel keeps growing they are bound to pickup more views 🙂

Nice car for posing and pottering around in well looked after and ns rear wheel arch looks like it has some filler and paint either that or its my telly, hope we get some sun so you can enjoy it

Thanks for watching Alan, yes the paint is definitely more matte at the ns rear wheel arch where the scratch/dent is. Hopefully we will see the sun soon! 🔆
