Vole Gets Stay of Death

Ғылым және технология

I know that I hear "Yeah I would have killed him!" I say, "Are you sure about that?" He's a cute, gentle little creature and we just couldn't. I even ask Mrs Nutnfancy if she'd off him with a .22 right then right there. You'll see her answer. I figure if I'm going to let him go I'd feed him strawberries to help him out.

I was at work one day and a coworker found a baby rat on the floor in the stock room it was a Sears, it was so young it still was slimy from birth, anyways, he picked it up and chucked it in the garbage can. I didn't have the heart to let it starve to death in a trashcan so I took it out back, outside in the parking lot and crushed it with a piece of asphalt, I apologized to it before I crushed it, but I ended it's life instantly. That broke my heart to do, and haunted me for a long time, but at the time I knew it was the most humane thing to do. Yesterday marked the two year anniversary of my mom's passing, she had a massive stroke outta nowhere and was only alive because of machines and medication. When my stepdad asked what ai think we should do, I said pull the plug, if there is no way of maintaining a quality of life then I know she would rather us pull the plug. That was so hard, she was only 59 years old, and I definitely wasn't ready for her to go, but I k ew that if I truly loved her then the right thing to do is what she would have wanted. Watching her take her last gasps for air and passing on was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Sometimes the right thing to do is not very pleasant.

@@shan3rdI don't think you closely read what he said. His mom was only being kept artifically alive by machines and chemicals...no "saving" from that kind of stroke. It is a super tough call but I hope if I'm ever in that situation someone can make that tough call on me. Take what organs and tissue from me that can be used to help others and that's that. From what I looked up on these, they have surprisingly short life-spans. Also, some of their characteristics include empathy and comforting/grooming of other mistreated voles - that's what it says. They are related to hamsters and lemmings. I never even knew about them until this post, and I looked it up.

Perfect target for my new problem-solver. The dang thing was just minding his own business and enjoying a perfectly beautiful summer day in August. So in the end, we BOTH enjoyed the day.
