{Voith Vitesse} Go-Ahead Ldn Enviro 400 Trident ft. Kickdown & Nice Retarder gets Booted on Tram Rep

It's been a hot minute since an iconic 06 Plate Enviro 400 from Go-Ahead London's Commercial Fleet has featured on the channel! But that void has been broken by E11! This bus is definitely a healthy one, carrying a nice retarder which sounds really good during braking. 😍 Here serving Tramlink Replacement around Croydon and outwards, Kickdown was used at every given choice possible! The first couple minutes are standard, the norm... then just under 4 minutes in, as the atmosphere turns dark is when the action properly begins! There is a lot of fast paced action, full throttling around bends, several sections where we catch up to cars in front, beautiful hillclimb moments where the bus held onto it's gear... and declines where the driver would bomb it up to Top Speed! You're obviously shown many downshifts throughout the video, especially ones from 3rd - 2nd where as high as it's revving in 3rd, it just manages to sneak one last downshift in before going up to speed again! And of course, like most modern DIWA gearboxes, come the lovely delayed downshifts back into 1st gear as the driver accelerates after exiting a corner. 😌 Separately, it does also seem to have the cooling fan stuck on, but it isn't as loud as you might think of... in fact's it's more audible on the outside as you should be able to tell from the flyby in the beginning!

    Voith sounds great with any engine, that's why it's the best gearbox, got so many sounds to it and it's made them all since it was first invented. The thing with modern Voiths of today they got sensotop instead of kickdown, which switches into different modes depending on the incline/passenger weight If the computer detects the bus is on a hill it will make the gear shifting happen on higher revs, if it the computer detects the bus is on a flat road it will stick to normal revs. If you really want to get a modern voith to rev like it has kickdown 24/7 you can recode the computer to always think the bus is on a hill. Ima do that to a bus in the future for sure. Nice video tho bro.

    Gotta love the 6.7L Cummins with a Voith 4 Speed, just sounds beautiful like music to my ears. Keep it up man. 18:12 doesn’t sound too good, sounds like the diff wants to go out.

    @@Frozzlesngl try and catch E9 as I heard it’s pretty nippy but the cooling fan is constantly on but E9 can reach to some wicked speeds without missing a beat.

    I also filmed one of these GAL euro 4 E400s voiths when they were doing the tram replacement service(E9 SN06BNO with a cooling fan), which I had to wait over an hour for one to come at New Addington. Riding these buses makes me feel like I'm riding an ALX400 euro 3 from Stagecoach London all over again. Voith on these buses sounds good overall 🔥🔥🔥. Amazing video as also bro 👍🏾

    King of kickdown is back at it again with another banger! I’ve been trying to get one of these myself for a similar type of video after I had to take down that MMC video (driver nearly got sacked due to the council being strict on making MMCs kickdown), but unfortunately West Cheshire council have banned companies from having them, and the 2 we had were sent straight off to Liverpool. Top tier buses these are, glad to be able to experience them through KZread, especially with the drivers you get! Keep it up bro! 😎

    Honestly, one of my favourite sounding buses ever! Yeah I love ISLs too, just a shame that there’s not many in the UK, and I’m not local to the ones that are around… but I do see some lovely videos of ones in Hong Kong/Singapore Growing up around ISCs and ISBs it’s inevitable for me to love them Love from the UK 🇬🇧
