My first cousin Billy Joe Fox was a 5th Marine forward observer radio operator on iwo. He had a code talker assigned to him. He came here to Arizona 45 yrs after the war to look up the code talker. He did find him and they had a wonderful reunion. It really helped Billy open up about his combat experience after 45 yrs of silence. God please bless them all and thank you

There is so much that could be said about all of these gentle heroes, but not enough room or time. Thanks John for the gift of your memory, thanks Larry for your dedication, and a shout out to Glenn for starting to build his own platoon of heroes.

Such an interesting life's story Mr. Dickinson had to offer, but you can't help but think... isn't one war enough for anyone? That said, his advice to the untested soldiers of Korea had to of save countless lives. Thank you PFC Dickinson for your service - God bless.

Chet, I forgot to mention in my introduction that John worked with the Navajo Indians on Iwo Jima - The Code Talkers. Such an interesting story. I have one Code Talker interview from WWII.

@@VoicesofHistory I know about the Code Talkers, but have never heard their story from them. That would be an interesting one.

My cousin's dad, a Marine, shot through the upper chest on Iwo Jima, was a memorable character. When I saw his bumper sticker - "I'll forgive Jane Fonda, when the Jews forgive Hitler" - I told him how I wrote hate mail to her for 10 years straight. He opened his trunk and gave me all kinds of Hanoi Jane stuff - hats, urinal stickers, etc..

Another great story. It's good to see the difference between having good, seasoned military like at Iwo, versus an unseasoned group found in Korea.
