So... A group that apparently inflated it's claims of membership numbers by getting a list of people who had left public comments on the state legislature's website last year and adding them to their membership list (I was one of the people who left a public comment and suddenly started getting emails thanking me for my support of their organization, when my comment did not support them in any way), then ran a campaign last fall to encourage donations and bragged about how many different states sent them donations during that campaign, turns out to be funneling money to republicans, while giving token amounts to the democrats that the donors likely expected to be their main focus? They covered themselves in advance by describing themselves as bi-partisan and giving republicans leadership positions in their organization, so anybody watching from the sidelines can simply say "what did you expect when you were giving money to an organization that was run by republicans?" to any angry donors complaining about the money not going to democrats. I guess now people won't be so quick to dismiss the comments about how this sham group misrepresents various things when they make public statements.
