It took them 18 hours to film the video, most of it spent in makeup chairs. Geoff put out Jack's Lament this month. Be sure to watch to the end, there is a "tribute" to this song, a slightly hopeful ending after it's over. J None joined them officially right after this, but left in 2021 when the US Navy recruited him to sing with them. He's been back several times to sing with them while on leave. They have a Halloween playlist, as does Geoff on his solo channel.

Love your costume! 🤟 I feel like at this point, it wouldn't be Halloween without VoicePlay and Geoff. They are so great. I hope they continue giving us new tricks and treats for many years to come!

"This is Halloween" is the first full video I saw by Voiceplay. I thought the vampire was totally hot, and the run at the end really impressed me (still does, it's beautiful) so I decided to check more of their stuff out...and next thing I knew, I was a Voiceplaya!

Eli (Eliezar), the bald tenor, does a lot of voiceover work. Whenever there is a speaking part, it’s usually him doing the character. Like when the guard came out, saying, “Minister Frollo…”. That was Eli voicing it.

Yep, I know they OWN Halloween, but you really should watch some of their non-Halloween productions 🙂. It doesn't matter what it is. Their quality level is just bonkers. Metallica's "Nothing else matters" could be a nice start, as well as "True colors", "Tennessee whisky", "Can't help falling in love", "Superstition", the post-apocalyptic trilogy Imagine Dragons' "Warriors", Aerosmith's "Dream on" and The White Stripes' "7 Nation Army", their Vikings' stuff ("My mother told me" and "Valhalla calling"), "I can't make you love me", video games stuff like "The Dragonborn comes - Skyrim" or the "Halo Theme" (to be watched to the end... The long, spoken outro is a precious window open onto the reasons behind that particular video and their human beings side), the super cute (yet kinda weird) "Golden hour", the hilarious, Halloween-esque rendition of the classical, instrumental, orchestral piece by Edvard Grieg "In the hall of the Mountain King" from the "Peer Gynt", "We don't talk about Bruno" from Disney's "Encanto" or their latest "Hellfire" from Disney's "Hunchback of Notre Dame"... or whatever else. 🙂 You won't regret, and whatever you choose next, you're in for a treat. 🙂 See you next time...

Yeah, they're worth watching no matter what grouping of Voiceplay it is. I don't have a favorite, but I am extra happy when it's a version with Cesar and J. None!

Since you love both Nightmare Before Christmas and Geoff's voice, you'll definitely want to check out his latest solo offering, Jack's Lament. Both the talent and production values have only improved over the years!!

Yes Yes YES!!! My favorite movie songs from any movie are from Nightmare Before Christmas. Written by the genius Danny Elfman...the man who married my crush Bridget Fonda. Also check out Marilyn Manson version of This Is Halloween. Great reaction. I really respect how much you appreciate and love Halloween. Great costume and reaction you beautiful lady! Have a wonderful weekend! 😊

Geoff and Layne (bass and beatboxer) each have a 5 octave range and Eli isn’t far behind. J was the baritone and can go into tenor range, but now sings bass for the Navy. Earl generally stays in high tenor territory but can also go pretty low. They all have worked with Disney and/or Universal studios, so the theatricality is sort of ingrained in them by this point. If you read the description, down at the bottom they will have the credits. Generally whoever does the arrangement is responsible for the production including video, video editing, audio, storyboard costumes, venue and initial sound edit. Eli is the tech wizard and has been doing the lighting for sometime now. Most recently he’s gotten into digital backgrounds using unreal engine which is used in video games and television for digital backgrounds. They are multi talented which is handy since they are self produced! Geoff’s wife Kathy is the production manager. They generally use a camera person and Rick Underwood who also worked at Universal generally does their more involved makeup with help from Renette when necessary. Both of them also work very closely with PattyCake Productions which is co-owned by Layne and Tony Wakim who had been the baritone until 2017. There an original production studio and they need a makeup person! By the way, you are right What’s This was quite old. J was still a featured performer because he had not joined yet. So I’m guessing this was probably around 2017 right after Tony left. Then he worked with them for several years and left again in 2021 to join the Navy and he is once again a featured artist !

THANK YOU for all the info. Makes sense, it's a huge production team behind it, hence the super professional videos and arrangements. Sooooo awesome. ❤

@@jacquelinevanbierk their production team is just a camera operator, a makeup artist and Geoff's wife, beyond the VP guys themselves. That's it. They are self taught in how to produce professional videos, through years of trial, error, and gaining knowledge and practice.

To add another spooky Halloween song/video to your list, you may take a look at one produced by PattyCake Productions, the studio from Layne Stein (VoicePlay's beatboxer) and Tony Wakim (former VoicePlay member) where VoicePlay's and some of Geoff's videos are recorded. It's not acapella but fun. Bump In The Night - A Horror Musical kzread.info/dash/bejne/mWmVpqewoZCqeqQ.html
