Lauren Paley is known as the Stairwell Siren. She sings in the stairwell of her apartment building freaking out her neighbors. VoicePlay reached out to her for this collaboration.

Voice Play also crammed themselves into the shot and did a TikTok duet with her. But they did some post production work on it and it sounds a bit different.

They are playing characters from the Haunted Machine. Geoff is playing the caretaker, Layne is the Hatbox ghost, Cesar is madame Leotta, Eli is one of the characters from the stretching portraits, and Lauren is the ghost bride. Layne actually flew out to Nashville to film Lauren’s part. He got home just before Hurricane Ian hit Florida. The charismatic voice did some of her voiceover work on this as well. Loved your reaction to this. 🎃

Lauren already knew how to be creepy. The costumes and collab took it up a couple of notches.

It had been years since I have been to Disney’s Haunted Mansion but I recognized them all I just couldn’t place them. I did remember that the character Eli is portraying is in the stretching room when you first walk in. The pictures grow and Eli ends up standing on a lit barrel of dynamite. They did a great job with all of it. I love Cesar singing in his head voice apparently 😂😂 as Madame Leota. Geoff must’ve been so tired from that crouch the whole time they were filming. And I watched them put make up on Layne and I still had trouble recognizing him once he was all put together in his outfit. The behind the scenes was really extensive since we were waiting - you’ll really enjoy it.

The original song was computer generated then Lauren did a version in her stairwell to scare the neighbours, so VP took it ans made a whole other thing. :)

Actually yes and no, so the Original yes was computer then it was done by Lizz Robinett sung like a vocaloid which made it super eerie. I love it!! The vocals are awesome of course, as always! It’s just the perfect mix of spooky and fun for a VoicePlay Halloween video! It may actually be Lauren’s version you’ve heard before, it’s very poplar. Elizabeth Zharoff, The Charismatic Voice, does voiceover on this and it’s so beautiful!

Characters are from the Disney Haunted Mansion. Characters... Geoff - Caretaker Silas Crump Layne - Hatbox Ghost (coming back next year) Cesar - Madame Leota Lauren - Constance Hathaway/Bride Eli - Alexander Nitrokoff (standing on barrel of dynamite) The room is one in the mansion. They have a mini out now too of Lauren video and them singing along.

What is the Haunted Mansion?

I love how scary they made Layne up & his scary singing was the best he has ever done.

You have to hear Lauren's version of this on the stairwell, it sounds so deliciously malevolent with her almost whispered singing. And her lullabies are equally creepy.

If I'm being honest this is probably my favorite they've done in quite a while. For the musically inclined the vocal range of this video is C#1 - Eb6

Lauren Paley had a TikTok “duet with me” thing going where she sang a few bars from this song and other people could add harmonies, etc. The way I found it is Bobby Bass did one (his acting was very understated, but that made it more spooky). Anyway, I don’t know if she started doing that before Voiceplay had the idea or whether they had already planned this and she was doing her TikTok thing as a lead up. Anyway, I totally agree, this is a lot of fun!! Great reaction, Dennis!!

Lauren Paley's ghost bride was creepy AF. So well done!

The freakiest thing to me about this totally awesome video ... is that Layne is clean-shaven. 😆 The jump-scare ghost gave me flashbacks to Once Upon a Dream. That was also a Layne video.

The whole thing is an homage to the Disney Haunted Mansion. Geoff is portraying the Caretaker, Eli is Alexander Nitrokoff, one of the portraits in the Stretching Room (you can see his portrait right behind him), Cesar is Madame Leota, Lauren is Constance Hatchaway, the attic bride (she was filmed separately and did her own makeup), and Layne is the Hatbox Ghost. His head disappears from his neck and reappears in the hatbox he's carrying. The bookshelves are a nod to the Mansion's library of ghost stories, all four stretching portraits can be seen to the right, and the portrait in the middle is Master Gracey, the aging portrait from the Mansion's foyer. Also, Elizabeth Zharoff (aka The Charismatic Voice) provided some extra spooky background voices.

Geoff is the caregiver for the haunted mansion, Layne is the hat box ghost, cesear is madame leota, Lauren is the bride also known as Constantine. With the haunted mansion themed background

They were playing characters from the Haunted Mansion. Geoff was the grave digger, Layne was the Hatbox Ghost, Cesar was the spirit in Madame Lyota's crystal ball, Eli was the tuxedo man in the stretching room, and Lauren was Madame Lyota's daughter who was at the exit. I don't know where the song was from but it was the Haunted Mansion.

the main reasons i prefer voiceplays instead of bass gangs is (no.1 geoff) no.2 they didnt just make lauren the lead for most of it and include themselves a lot more (not saying anything about lauren its just the bass gang only had like 30 seconds where they were the main singers whereas voiceplay was a lot more mixed)
