VoiceMeeter Input Output - Basics - ASIO Pro Sound Device Routing

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey Twitch Sings crew and KZread fam, I have helped many of our singers/musicians with questions regarding proper setup of VoiceMeeter Virtual IO for not only recording needs, but mainly live playback of their rigs to get the most out of the low latency interfaces available.

4 years later but this video helped a ton. I've been trying to figure out how to add one of Voicemeeter's ASIO channels into Amplitube 5 and then also being to output it through my Stereo Mix so I can stream it into Discord and this video helped a lot. For anyone who may want to do this down the road in Amplitude, what I did was set A1 to the Focusrite ASIO and also to Input 1 as well. On the ASIO input in Potato, I activated B2 and Mono so that it would go to Voicemeeter AUX 1 and then in Amplitube 5 I set the Input/Output to Voicemeeter AUX Virtual ASIO. Now back to Potato, set A1 and A2 on Voicemeeter AUX 1 and we are good to go.

Thanks Garrett. Very good video. I have watched numerous videos on Voicemeeter, and I think this is the best explanation of how to set it up, especially the ASIO drivers. I couldn't figure out the patch inputs until you showed me. Thanks again for explaining it so clearly. I subscribed.

You could also set 'ASIO IN 1' - to '1 - 1' so your mono mic automatically divides L & R into Strip 1. Basically achieving a stereo signal instead of having it through "forced mono" as you have. Probably the exact same thing hehe.

BEST EXPLANATION of VOICEMEETER!!! I have been using VB for about 6 months and no other tutorial has even been close to an "ahhh, yea okay" moment. Integrating into my recording setup has been VERY confusing: 8ch MAudio FastTrack audio interface, MIDI keyboards/pads, multiple DAWs, ...AND trying to VoIP w another laptop and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. ~ anti-Mac · anti-Ableton ~ *so yeeaa, ambitious* Ready to finish your series! Thanx so much!

Ah thank you! More tutorials to come, from your VOIP suggestion, I will record a video on how to use the VBAN feature to send your audio streams over a network to any other computer. It can also transmit MIDI information which can be extremely helpful. I have been slacking getting new videos out, but all the kind comments have been inspiring.

Hi, j4ster, hi Garret, I also got that MAUDIO device and voicemeeter so far is clear. I got trapped by the fact of having all 8 ASIO outputs in the A1 bus. My question is, is it possible to route an ASIO hardware input to another output than 1+2? If I patch the ASIO outputs to A2 and A3 I will no audio on A1. And that's how it's given in the manual. So do I have to mix the hardware inputs to the hardware outputs with the ASIO driver software?

I might be wrong but it's seems to me that the virtual inputs that you call virtual outputs (the mid section) are not related to B1, B2 and B3, unless you send them to those .. ? To me they are just the same as the "hardware input" on the left, but instead of getting audio from your audio interface inputs, they get it from "applications" that use Voicemeeter as their driver (Ableton, Windows, etc...) On the other hand, B1, B2 and B3 are virtual outputs, and they send audio to applications that use them as audio sources (Windows vocal recorder, OBS, Ableton, etc...). Apart from that, your tutorial is by far the best we can find on youtube, thanks !!

Hi Garrett ! The production level of your video is really good ! I was expecting much more subscribers and...videos ;p Could you please continue this serie ? You explain it so well and seem to really understand what you're doing. I've been trying forever to route the output of Ableton as a virtual input so that I can select it in Jamulus, (but would also be helpful in Twitch/Discord/Zoom... Can I hope for a following video or maybe a quick explanation to get me going ? Thank's mate !

Using the System Settings to patch the ASIO in actually WORSENED the latency from my mic, which I had previously using WDM Realtek Audio. I think this is because the WDM driver was made specifically for my audio interface. So using System Settings to patch ASIO is not *always* better than adding the hardware device on the main GUI. Experiment around and listen for what works best.

I have been trying to do it but it didnt work at all in giving output. I must mention that changing the input devices from WDM to MME on any input device magically started working for the output. I never imagined tht could be the cause.

I've been using Voicemeeter as a virtual Asio4All player for a few days, and everything was fine at first, but now I can only play the audio from my PC through one of the two speakers, more specifically, only the left audio channel is played, I've been playing for a couple of days I don't know what to do... Any advice on how to fix it? Thank you very much ^^

After watching your video, I understand it a bit more, still going to bang my head against the wall trying to understand this audio stuff ,but now it hurts a bit less. :) Have to say that the other videos I seen, never said about how to use AISO in the set up, that info is very enlightening, I find audio routing and set up so complex? Maybe its not that complex, just my brain is useless and can't handle it. :)

I'm just trying to separate KZread audio in my DAW (reaper) in order to play along with my guitar. For some reason I'm seeing the audio from my browser in voicemeeter but not hearing it. My headphones are plugged into my interface (Audient iD14) so maybe I'm not seeing the right output. I hear my guitar but it's clean. It's registering in my plug-ins as well but no actual output even though I can see the meter moving. Any suggestions??? Anyone? Lol

Thanks a lot for this! Very helpful. But I don't think you are very clear or accurate about the virtual inputs and outputs. From what I understand and see, B1, B2 and B3 only directly correspond to Voicemeeter, Voicemeeter Aux and Voicemeeter VAIO3 OUTPUTS and not the Virtual Inputs. The virtual inputs are also named similarly but they don't really correspond directly to the B's.
