I saw this live. When Alex sang "and modulated", they looked at the conductor and did a "bring it up, lets do this" hand gesture. you could feel the energy in the crowd when that happened, and the rest of the song was felt deep down, lol... They going places!!

I just returned from New York and saw Shucked and everybody is talking about the show. Funniest thing I've seen since Book of Mormon. Alex knocked it out of the park and is apparently getting a mid-act standing ovation every night!

“That’s hard!” And proceeds to do it effortlessly😂😂😂❤

Broadway is a very demanding full time job. Demanding of your time, energy, body, attention. Many people have the skill, but it's not necessarily the right job for everyone's lifestyle, physical health, or even just that they don't want to be a stage performer for a living.

I recently came across this as well and LOVE IT! So glad you covered it. Amazed by Alex, and amazed by you and your ability to sufficiently emulate and explain what's happening in a performance. There are a few vocal analysts on here that don't have nearly your chops, and its no shade, but it goes a long way that you can for me personally to hear and understand.

It's totally possible. I saw Alex as Asaka in Once On This Island and he blew the roof off the theater when he sang Mama Will Provide. On the recording he's great. In person he was transcendent!!

I have yet to hear anything sung by Alex that has been less than spectacular. Alex is the consumate musician. They do not merely sing, and most definitely does not perform. The skill level and talent are beyond compare. Your analysis is spot on.

The strength in her voice increased as she went along in the song which got me so excited to go along the journey with her as she told her story in the lyrics!!
