Thank you for your tutorial about voice isolation in FCPX. I haven’t up to now seen any tutorials on voice isolation.
Thanks very much for doing this test! I think I prefer the results from FCP, but I wouldn't use either at 100%, so they'd come out sounding pretty similar after adjusting to taste.

yeah indeed ... I try not to go over 50% sometimes 60-70% works fine in FCP over that it will start to sound odd ... usually I have it on 40 or so... maybe even only 30 if I just need to remove a little hiss from a low Mic-Preamp
I just tried the noise isolation with 18.1 for the first time yesterday and was blown away! Had bugs in the background, and it removed them flawlessly.

indeed it is really usable and good.
Final Cut works depending on what it has to remove, but I use Wave's Clarity....its really amazing for 29$

both work great ... I will check Waves Clarity out, thanks
The ambulance clip seemed better in FCP, to me.

yeah FCP filters it out quite a bit better but the high-end is not as nice/smooth, which you only really hear with good headphones. So in "real life" I think FCP is better
I hear more artifacts in your voice in Resolve when directly compared to FCP.

yes and no ... FCP has different artifacts since FCP cuts a bit more in the high frequencies, resolve sound a bit more open which makes it a bit more noticeable.
I wonder if you could compare both of these to the similar feature in Izotope RX9 or RX10. I would be very interested in the results.

well, I did try the RX10 plugins in Resolve and sadly did not even come close ... and since it was not really something usable and the video was too long, I cut it out. Maybe with the iZotope, RX App/Editor results will be better. Having said that I did not try the RX 10 Repair Assistant plugin yet ... so might be another video for that ;)

...never mind, just did a quick test and the RX 10 Repair Assistant AI plugin did not get any good results with the same footage/audio ... both Voice Isolation tools from FCP and Resolver are better!
I think the Resolve is just a bit better. But they are very similar
