Another recruit to The Nightwish Army! 🤘They have a new album in the pipeline, so a tour is bound to happen - she actually joined them during the American leg of their 2012-13 world tour, after the previous vocalist left. She had to learn 15 songs in 48 hours! 😱 She's a vocal coach herself - you could probably guess, being one yourself. 😘

Finally someone who actually sits quiet through the whole song and save everything for after the video. Breaking the tradition! Well done 👏 Edit: Not what you think I meant by it. I understand pausing for copyright reasons but if you're able to go through it with as little interruption as possible it's not only nicer for the viewer but also a better listening experience for the reactor and get it all out afterward and go back if needed.

Hearing this live can only be described as ethereal. I saw Floor’s second performance with Nightwish, less than 1 week after she got the call to replace their previous singer. She was absolutely amazing, but it was this song that stood out. Time froze. I froze. The last part that is usually referred to as the moment everyone experiences their floorgasm I had mine. I dropped my beer unintentionally. Head to toes goosebumps. Tears streaming. The only time I have ever had that intense of a reaction to a song before that was when I heard the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra perform Verdi’s Requiem. Classical music is heavy metal before guitars. Symphonic metal marries the two. Ghost love score with Floor singing is the epitome of the genre.

This was both on the Rock Academy in Tilburg (Netherlands). She explains this in a Dutch TV show, Reunion where her classmates where also present. The Classical training she did was because she loved to sing the high notes and she was not sure what style she wants. Her range is now from B3 to Fe6. I did see this show ( because I'm Dutch ).

Tuomas Holopainen (keyboardist) is the band's primary creator, composer and lyricist. He uses 3 (sometimes 4) keyboards -- KORG Karma, Triton, N364 and Kronos. The "film scorey" part was actually him performing a solo. This is one of their best concerts (please react to any song from this show, such as Romanticide) but I wish they put more cameras on the keyboards. Hello. Since this is your first reaction to Nightwish. I will give you a short history speech, "The Ann Waychoff" speech (a short / concentrated history of the band): Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now still is. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just saw her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol I would like to recommend "Yours Is An Empty Hope" kzread.info/dash/bejne/iqiM07eHcpvgorg.html Thank you.

Beware though, Nightwish switches back and forth from Symphonic Metal to Ballads, Heavy Metal, Folk Metal, Hard Rock and even some Pop, which is only possible because Tuomas the keyboardist who writes, arranges and blends most of Nightwish's songs is a genius and he has Floor now who can sing anything he creates. She has done the ballads, the duets, the heavy metal, the symphonic metal, the folk metal, bluesy jazz and even pop. You are also correct about this band, you experience them not merely listen to them which is why you always go with a LIVE performance if available as Floor's power, range and stage presence along with the crowd make for a fantastic experience. Great reaction and waiting to the end was a very nice and different experience which made your reaction and evaluation even better.

The music is called symphonic metal and i very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded 1996 . So far the band has had 3 vocalists 1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005) 2 Anette Olzon (Schwedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012) 3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current) . * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she capable of. Band members Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics) Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals) Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen (The drummer) Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player) Troy Donockley ( a person who did not play on this song but is a multi instrumentalist from the UK) The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the worldtour a lot of what happened was recorded. The documentary is called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJx52s2mh66zdbg.html ) As a next song to take a look at i would recommend their masterpiece "The poet and the pendulum" live at Wembley. Before you take a look at it i would recommend to take a look at the backstory of this song. This will make you appreciate it much more. here is the link kzread.info/dash/bejne/mZaim6mcqryom9o.html BTW that last note she just sang? Nightwish fan created a whole new word for when she does something impressive like that. We call it a Floorgasm. Welcome to the club and boy are you going to receive a lot of traffic on your channel. ;-)

Symphonic metal really is a gem in the music world. It popped up in the 90's with bands like Nightwish, because Metal music had become more widespread in the 80's, but then in Finland and other parts of Europe the people who got into it were classically educated musicians, so it very rapidly mixed together with classical and folk music. That's also why it's such a popular genre in Finland, people just take the drums and the guitars and combine them with different styles. Nightwish really hit the jackpot with getting Floor as their singer, she is such an amazing singer. She can match her voice to anything in the music, and the people in this band can do _a lot_ with the music.

Nightwish fans are among the most loyal, enthusiastic, and engaged fans you will find. We love to share their music with others and we support others in our Nightwish community. The live versions are generally the most beloved so always try to react to a live version if possible. I would recommend reacting to these songs in this general order. But if you don't have the desire to react to this many Songs I put a star in front of the essentials... I hope you continue down this wonderful path of musical exploration. And there are so many more... Anything from the live shows at wacken 2013, wembley 2015, or Tampere 2015 are great though Floor seemed a bit vocally fatigued in the wembley show. It was the last show of a huge tour to support their album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”. The one song from wembley that is a absolute must listen is “The Poet and the Pendulum”. In my opinion this is the greatest song Tuomas has ever written and when performed live with Floor it is as emotionally gripping and inspirational as music gets. The arrangement, the lyrics, the instrumental performance, and Floor’s vocal perfection are mind blowing.

Yes, this is actually very important! Lyrics are key to get into the many emotions of that song. A lot of things get lost if you don't have them on screen.

New to your channel and I have to congratulate you. Really, excellent reaction. You don’t blabber through the music like many others do. And you don’t feel the need to show off your vocal capabilities with lots of ‘ooooohhh’s and aaah’s while the music is playing. I really like how you intersperse your analyses with video and sound fragments *after* you have listened. And another thing, you.really.listen. and feel the music. In other words; you respect the music. Thanks for that. Well done. Subbed!

That keyboard player is Tuomas Holopainen, he's also the song writer for most of their music. I'm not sure how many keyboards he's using now, but previous to 2013 I saw he was using 3 keyboards at once. Nightwish is an amazing group, I'd recommend poet and the pendulum, but bring tissues Albenglow is also an amazing song The Islander too

Symphonic Metal is a very popular genre in Sweden and Finland. If you like Nightwish check out their their compatriots: Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius or Swedish Hammerfall or Germanys Edguy and Avantasia. They have some incredible mind blowing songs.

You could react to Night Wish Phantom of the Opera with their first lead singer. The guy with the beard in pigtails can really sing.

Great Reaction! Nightwish has tons of other great songs. As far as other Symphonic Metal Bands. I would recommend songs from the earlier albums of Within Temptation. As well as Delain and Epica. FYI, there was 82,000+ in the audience at that year's annual W'V'acken open air Metal Festival, in Germany. Ghost Love Score was the 13th of 16 songs that Nightwish performed that night. Like most, I'm sure you will around to reacting some of the other 15. They were that year's (2013) headliners. Being the last of over 50+ bands that performed at the 4-day Event.

Tuomas(keyboard) has said that he wants to have an orchestra in lives, but since he hasn't managed to do it some of the orchestra sounds are pre-recorded but most come from his keyboard. in lives he uses 2-3 keyboards
