thank you for the kind words
This is why I have nothing but respect for music producers and sound engineers. They take raw materials and turn them into magic!
This is the best De-esser tutorial and one of the best audio tutorials in general, thanks!

I agree. This is the best video about audio editing I've seen till now. It's the first one that makes me understand everything after watching it once!

Kloosless Facts!
Most videos would have ended after the Digi De-esser demonstration..."and that's how you use a de-esser..."...but not Fab!!! Too good.
Oxford Supresser really does the job for me. I love it and although it's not cheap at all, it's worth every penny! It works great on clearing your low end and stops it from rumbling. You just got yourself a new subscriber :) Really clear and professional tutorial!
Mr. Dupont kills it again!!! Well done sir on Disseminating how De-Essing works with different De-essers. (Yes, I meant to put that many S's in that comment)
Amazing job covering not only the process of de-easing but a good look at some of the major plugins!

Wow that was awesome! Learned a lot on this video for those pesky s sounds.
You're my new favourite Frenchman! Thanks ! :)
Holy cow Fab, that was the single best de-esser tutorial I've ever heard. As I listened, I was marvelling at your depth of knowledge and how finely attuned your ears are for detecting sonic differences. C'est magnifique.
Very well done. I am glad you admitted that one de-esser cannot do all jobs. It varies by project and vocalist. Now I feel I can open any de-esser plugin and at least know how to make it do something to see if it will work for my mix. Excellent.
Wish I would've seen this sooner but I'm glad I stumbled on this video, definitely the best De-easer video I've seen !
Great tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you very much for this video as it was very educational for me.
I've always read on mixing articles about the DBX 902, never seen or heard one; just like your Tape video, thanks for allowing us to see and hear what these old-skool analog components sound like.
Excellent overview. Didn’t even know about the Eiosis. Thanks Fab!
Cool.. You're the first one to ever explain to me how a Deesser works......Thanks....
Very useful and comprehensive tutorial and overview of different tools. Thank you!
Hey, fantastic! you explained the de-essers in such detail, that i now get the full understanding on how they work, thanks!
Excellent presentation - straight in and succinct - great work.
Excellent !! very Helpful
Very good explained, thank you :)
Best Tutorial in the world!!

Excellent video, Thanks!
Extremely professionally executed video I am looking forward to spending a great deal of time checking out your library thank you
Excellent! Thank you Fab. You definitely picked some great DeEssers to review. Another good option is the Plugin Alliance SPL De-Essers for those who are interested.
I really like the videos so far. Very straight forward, fast and simple!!!! Hope you do more! I currently I'm taking a year course for sound engineering and audio production this really helps a lot!
Really good and entertaining explanation. Thanks so much Fab!

Very well and professionally explained. Thank you!
best d esser tutorial ever
The Eiosis looks awesome!
Good professor! Good methodology & aimed presentation!
verry good explication. thanks
This is amazing tutorial
Excellent video. I use the WAVES de-esser for most of the vocals I mix. I found it to be very quick and efficient for Hip-Hop vocals as well as more-sibilant sounding R&B vocalists
Geniusss . Great Learnin From Puremix. Keep It Up Bro's .

Thx very much
WOW! that's all i have to say.. i dont even need this info, and still i enjoyed watching this..
Excellent video as usual :) I had a quick question about how you setup the 902 as an IO loop and what plugin you are using to set that up. Would very much like to utilise this.
@videoeditors That plugin rocks. Paul Frindle is a genius. I have not tried it for de-essing. I'm sure it should provide some good results if you map a mellow tone onto a harsh ssss. Worth a try. I will when I can. Fab
Needed This Info!
Exellent
Thank you for the video! very informative! I am using the surpressor, loving it. I was once using it on a male vocal, trying to find the relevant frequency, then the red line showed up at around 1250 Hz, so what should I do in this situation? Second question if I may ask, if after the process, the esses are not annoying the listeners and are not distracting any more. Is that mission complete? When do you stop and how do you tell a good job is done? Thank you again.
nice video, buti would put de-esser on this video
I NEED that MIC ur using please tell me what the make and model is--thanx!!! It sounds super clean and accurate and @ 1st i thought it was ur hair--lol!
Hey Fab, what microphone are you using to record your voice on this video? almost invisible and sounds very good.
how does the eiosis sound in conjunction with the oxford? the oxford sounded best to my ears by the way. plus i really liked the options of the compression, its like a transient designer or envelope like compression. Im thinking of getting the oxford to slap a few on a master buss.
@ThePureMixTutorials Thank you, will watch the video.
what do you think is the best plugins to use for mastering a track do you have any videos about mastering?
Merci
Wow~~~~~ Wow~~~~
Do you guys advise to automate gain of vocal to get a more consistent level prior to putting it through a compressor? (I believe Avid are thinking about introducing a region-based volume control which is pre-fader)
Merci. :)
Hey! I was looking to buy the Eiosis, but they do not seem to have it, and the other ones dont have the same features it looks like
thx bro--peace
eiosis definitely best
I have cheap speakers, bad acoustics and untrained ears. Still these videos fascinate me.
interesting, thanks.
Bon travail mon frère français!
Great vid, BIG thanks! 1+ for EIOSIS which offer tons of flexibility, hands down. Please let me know what type of alien (quite invisible and beautiful piece of gear) ear mic you wear on?
super
I have a question!its a bit off topic!!how to remove ambient noise or any noise which the mic picks up??
What's your view on Dynamic Spectrum Mapper for de-essing?
Hey, I've got a Yamaha LS-9 32 channel mixer, with an on-board De-Esser. opinions?
What's that microphone which you used to explain?
Wow. This guy...
sonnox BEST evar!!!
What version of Pro Tools are you using?
i'm not sure how he does it, but i would use one of your out's on your soundcard or I/O device and go into the the 902, then take the out from the 902 and go into one of your inputs. Then route the channel you want to use to go that route instead of the through the main out...hard to explain, but i hope you get it?
