I actually watched this concert of hers in full just yesterday and I'm a fan of Lara, but I was so shocked at how she was able to do full belting for over an hour. She literally sounded just as pristine at the end of the song as the beginning ones. This is actually the concert where she sang Vision of Love and I will always love you.

This is a stellar performance. A full on performance, highs, lows, in-betweens. Lord have mercy! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💯🔥🔥🔥

Yes!!! I literally jumped up in my seat! She also does this in the "9" concert, definitely check out that version, it's even more theatric. More Lara, please!! Do "Si Tu M'aime", she can rock!

Barbara was Lara's favorite singer at the childhood, she even convinced Lara to become a singer and write her own songs. Lara somehow said that she had spent nights listening to Barbara. After years when lara was already popular Barbara asked lara to allow her to sing a song called broken wov. Nowadays they are close friends.

She was performing that way because they're songs from the Barbra Streisand film "Yentl." She was really living out her Yentl fantasy lol. P.S. Please react to Barbra's original version of "Piece of Sky" it's so amazing!

Le Soulier Qui Vole 95 Barbara’s original studio versions are amazing but Barbra’s live performances of these songs aren’t as good as her studio versions. IMHO Lara performance is superior for those reasons 😁

@@Gianni117 the live version on "The Concert" is breathtaking. The long note at the end of "Papa Can You Hear Me" and the harmonies in "Piece of Sky" give me shivers. And Barbra really acts the songs without being over the top

Have you seen the Bruxelles 1998 concert where she does "Dites-moi Pourquoi Je L'aime" in a chair? It's a bit of a hidden gem I would love to see him react to. It's pretty mind blowing.

Lara is amazing, and I am a huge fan. However, Barbra's original cannot be beaten nor the long belt at the end that I can only sing in my dreams. I know Lara is not trying to be Barbra, but Lara's long note at the end left me desiring to hear Barbra's instead. Barbra's singing with herself in the film was just as epic. I appreciate Lara's love for it also, but Babs is Queen when it comes to the Yentl songs.

@@rellenoz yes i really love Barbra (and Michel Legrand R.I.P.) but here the last note from Lara comes after a LIVE performances and after she ran on all the scene. Niot from a movie cut scene in a studio as with Barbra. Huge difference !

Just remember when done in films o studio the voice and the entire delivery could be enhanced further. A few months ago I encountered a die hard Barbra Streisand fan (BS is my second favorite in terms of vocal qualities to LF. Both sounded the same when comparing the live and studio voices.). and he/she raised the issue of trying to find a BS performing a live version of the song to the level of her film/studio production. He/she cant find one. I cant find one (or MORE to really check the consistency). He/she pointed out like for example BS and LF did a rendition of the song Alfie, BS rendition is really INSANE compared to Lara, BUT we cant find a live version of her performing that song especially that level (studio). And we all know in a studio you could record/breakdown the song segment by segment. And you could magnify or enhance the voice..The same is the case with Whitney and Mariah for me, I cant find the CONSISTENCY on their voices during live takes, especially when performing outside the control of their recording studio. They cant replicate whats on their studio track.especially when performing during a full concert. (Celine Dion, Lara Fabian and Monica Naranjo can execute that during a full live concert performance without missing a note).

I believe the performance of Yentl in her Un Regard 9 concert, (2006) is better than this one. In the latter performance her voice had evolved and her delivery more refined. My opinion.
