Vocal Warm Up for When You're Sick with the Singing / Straw (Should You Sing When You Have a Cold?)

Vocal Warm Up for When You're Sick with the Singing / Straw (Should You Sing When You Have a Cold?) - I’m sick, what do I do!? Should I sing? Go on voice rest? If I have to sing, how do I best protect and care for my voice? In today’s video, I walk you through a gentle warm up using straw phonation for when you absolutely have to sing while sick.
Let me know in the comments if that helps, and if you have any more questions!

About the Singing / Straw:
The Singing / Straw is a revolutionary stainless steel straw phonation tool that singers, vocalists, and speakers can use to promote more efficient vocal fold closure and release extra tension. Designed based on the latest voice science, the Singing / Straw makes singing easier, heals sick/tired voices, reinforces healthy resonance, reduces tension, and builds stamina.

    awesome! I was hoping to find a "voice rehab" video on your channel as I'm recovering from a sore throat and 2 months without singing... I think this is it!

    This was fantastic, thank you so much. I'm in the middle of a bad cold and I have a big production coming up in 2 days. After doing these exercises just once, I'm already feeling better. Praise God!

    This is the first time I've been on this channel. Occasionally I will have a song where I will accompany my guitar with a kazoo in a harmonica rack. I always noticed that my voice would break through a little. So I started warming up occasionally with the kazoo. I think you have just proved me right. Thank you

    If I don’t have the singing straw will a regular straw work?

  • @SingingStraw

    @SingingStraw

    You can use a regular straw! Just keep in mind that a regular straw has a much larger diameter than the Singing / Straw so it won't give you as much resistance.
