I also don't think Darren has any interest in opera or even musical theatre but he'll get into it for work. He sticks to pop contemporary music...but that's ok. Still amazing singer

He was already training even before auditioning for the voice. I guess it was on his first coach which developed tension in his singing.

Francis Fabian He didn't have gone through voice training before as far as I know. It was just mentoring and voice coaching. (Next Star Singing Contest) Nothing related to formal and extensive voice training tho!

@@bgyoxdarren1243 I see. Maybe it's really the star within him that just waits to bloom. I'm hoping he'd undergo vocal training to correct his way of singing, especially now that's he's going through puberty. It would not be very beneficial to maintain his singing technique all the way because it would be difficult to change it as he gets older.

I thought he said on the press conference for the aces that he is taking vocal lessons to help his voice???

As you can observe, Filipino singers are crazy versatile in style and technique. You see them belting "chandelier" and blink of an eye "the phantom of the opera" next... Most Filipinos in general (not just in singing) are easy to train, they adapt very fast. We don't go through long arduous years of training like kpop idols do. You just show them how to do it, they mimick and its done.

He didnt do proper training for the opera song nor voice lessons maybe he did practicjng b4 THE SERIES OF THE ACES CONCERT W/ LANI MISALUCHA & JONALYN VIRAY. I was thinking he was born to be one of the best young singer. He is one of the best vocalist in the Philippines.... some singer surely his envy his vocal range. He never had a serious vocal training. It was just a month before their concert "D ACES", he was trained to vocalized the low notes and high notes for the sake of the said concert which some of the songs are in operatic/theatrical arrangements.

Hello Yasik. I like your reaction. I love Darren and think he is an amazing singer. Though, it hurt to watch him go through puperty. He stil sang really well, however, his voice was unstable. It seems that his voice is becoming more stable again and he can still reach high notes, though he cannot as easily stay in his high range for as long as he used to. I find that some fans get upset when this is pointed out, but I don't think that reaching highnotes is the only measure of a good singer. He used to be known for reaching highnotes and belting. He was on the Voice Kids and came in second. He has sung quite a few ballads and pop songs in relation to the show. He likes Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars... And he has covered some of Adele's songs. He is known as The Total Performer in The Philippines because he dances as well (As far as I know, I am not Filipino). He has written two songs that I know of, "Home" and "poison". That is all I know or can come up with at the moment.

He had voice lesson with a well known chinese vocal coach for a few days during his stay in China. I think he improved after that (even though he's already very good).

I dare you ! Who can do this while in puberty ? He actually did a lot in this concert. BALLADS, NOVELTY, TORCH, BLUES, ROCK, DANCE AND SOUL SONGS . Darren raised the roof with his electrifying performances.

I like that u were not over praising him and discussed more on technicality..I am not a singer but even me noticed that he struggled in the last part and was.barely hitting that range..but still, kudos to him because he's managed to finish it. Also about the mic thing u mentioned, here in the Philippines when singers sing songs with very high notes, cameramen zooms more on the face and mouth because we love to copy how they do it and of course to check if it is live and not lipsync
