Another thing I love about this song is that for the most part, Santana took a backseat and let Quinn and Britney have a bigger moment so to speak. Like she didn’t have as many solo parts in this as one would have expected. Which is nice because Quinn and Britney are much less used and get less opportunities for this. Also they are technically out of high school. That’s a no spoiler answer.

Quinn’s “I think I’m ready now”. 😳 Anyways, yes. They were in college for this part. Season 5, they came back for the 100th episode.

My favorite Unholy Trinity performance/cover. Absolutely love the harmonies on this covers. Really love Naya’s background vocals and ad-libs as well.

Also, the parts where they're in their underwear dancing is actually their own fantasy. What they're actually performing in front of the rest of the Glee Club is their choreography when they wear their Cheerios uniforms.

I mean... it can't be worse than the first version where they're performing a "sexy dance" with their TEACHER😂

I love that Naya's adlibs are different in this version than from S2.

The way they harmonized and revamped this song is one of my favorite song transformations in the 100th episode! They really reworked it so well and of course the unholy trinity can pull it off with perfection. I love how you described Britney Spears' vocals 😂 I dont think theres a more accurate way to explain them! 💙

This song sounds like a Bond movie theme and with the silhouettes even though I know it’s a Chicago inspired dance they look like Bond girls.

When I was watching Glee 5 or 6 years ago, I was asking myself which version of Britney Spears’s Toxic I liked better, the season 2 of Glee version of the season 5 and then I remembered that Mr. Schue was in the season 2 version and I was just like “No, that’s cringey and I hate it.” So this Unholy Trinity performance will always be my favorite because it doesn’t include a teacher performing with them.

Your reaction about them being in college is exactly what I'm thinking all the time about this performance, 'they sound so fantastic, but imagine being a high school freshman kid at the Glee club and seeing college kids who are visiting their old clubs return for THAT performance. That no parent ever forces their kid to quit Glee is beyond me'.

I'm a year late, but something I love about this is we REALLY hear Quinn's low register. In the last choruses, she's an octave lower and that's not something we really ever heard from her. It was at her emo phase speaking level but richer

The harmonies are on point in this performance.

Brittany had already graduated at the end of S4 when she left for the MIT. Santana just wanted her to have a proper ceremony, hence the scene in S5 with the other graduates.

I love this performance so much. I was bicurious before this aired... after it aired I knew for sure that I liked girls. 😂

The part that blows my mind is it went from Netflix to Disney plus… there’s a lot of scenes that young kids shouldn’t see or hear yet.. I’m just surprised that it’s on there! Plus I really wanted to rewatch it & now it’s gone😩

i love the tango feel to this version.

The first version was more of a rock version and this one has a tango feel. Naya and Heather sang in both versions. Audrey, I hadn't noticed the KZread plate. When did you get it?

As you can see, when they are in the cheerleading outfits, they are in the chorus room. When they are in the other outfits, it’s a fever dream.

In universe: i forget. I think it was to help the newer cast members but it doesn't matter. Actual reason: it was the 100th episode of the show, so all the regulars came back and all the songs sung were "greatest hits" if you will.

Sue told Schue that to keep the Glee club, they had to win Nationals (cause budget cuts). Well they lost, so Glee club was over and everyone was back to say goodbye..

You need to keep in, mind, Heather Morris who plays Brittany is a professional singer. She sang backup for Beyonce and was highly praised by her. Britany is a special character that was created for Beyonce sent her to the set to teach the cast how to perform the song single lady.

Only way I know how to describe that “too high” (3ish minutes) part is a siren that hit a little lower and to the back creating the open sound, where as the vocal warm up is typically more to the front and whiny.
