prince eliel that’s a common mistake. g5 was the final note of “bridge over troubled waters”. watching both performances you can hear the (small) difference. this one was a g#5, like, just a little bit higher

actually she always give her best performance "Everyone" is one of her masterpiece performance, and "You raise me up (2018)" too

The original note was actually a B5 but they lowered it down because the audience exploded when she did that note. For proof you can watch her fancam performance

While I think Mona Lisa is a legendary performance, I think its preferable is she can see So Hyang's facial expressions while singing. She seems to dive in there while reacting.

So Hyang is the best and an angel

Coach Tara, huge respect to you for being so modest and so appreciative of another vocalist, true masters don't hate each other. SoHyang once gave lectures at one of the main Korean Music University, still time to time does lectures on stage presence and fear management as a vocalist. Actually this is second time watching this video, I have to say this is like ONLY 35% of SoHyang's full performance. The ending thing, SoHyang always does those, gestures (leg or hands) following drums patterns by instinct. A "Drums Girl"...!

I don’t think So Hyang has ever failed at hitting notes this high in a chest mix. You were talking about a C6 as if it’s an impossible note to mix, but So Hyang can soar right past that up to a C#6. And her C#6 is entirely supported and sung with a balanced mix too, not even a remotely heady mix. I think you’ll come to realize that So Hyang’s favorite note is a mixed Bb5 because she hits them all the time and she does so like they’re nothing, and she never messes up because her tessitura is so high and her technique is flawless. You should check out “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Everyone” next.

I think Female Sopranos can Belt in Chest Mix up to E6! Even some High Pitched Male Sopranos too. I know So Hyang can hit them too, maybe she just don't want to give respect to the song and audience because Belted E6 is very thin, sounds worser than E8 whistle

@@roddick_ Considering how technically good even Sohyang’s mixed C#6 is, I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if she could higher, but you’re right that there isn’t much need for mixed notes that high. They’d sound out of place and overboard in pretty much anything. Some people already think her G5-C6 range is too much, and I guess I can understand why, but personally I think her ease and power in that range sounds so satisfying, climactic, and emotional.

I wasn't surprised at all. I've always known that she can do anything with her voice.

What a wondeful an educational reaction. I love all of your reactions, but in this one you stole my heart as one of the very few, if not the only reactor who recognized and esteemed this wonderful last note ... yess I did it. Absolutely loved this final expression to finish such a fabulous performence too. She often has such last moments I absolutely love. In Bridge over troubled waters it's this little twist with the last note.

I've never seen a person who reacts for songs professionally and perfectly like Tara Simon. As one of the Korean people, I'm really proud of Sohyang and I think she is the best singer ever! This was actually her first performance on the show, she was the last performance of that episode AND she won. She's friends with Michael Bolton and they still sing together.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but I love how you switch up your hair styles for your different videos. It's kind of charming

I've never commented before, but I really love your in-depth reactions to So Hyang. They're very informative and helpful when I want to understand a vocal technique. And with Lean on Me, in a lot of her live performances, she goes up to a B5 instead of the Bb5 in the I Am Singer performance. Maybe you could react to one of those eventually.

I almost feel a bit guilty that I've only just discovered this lovely woman. She sings every single syllable like it's her last one ever. And while I really admire her devotion to her faith, I can't help but feel a little bitter that we'll never get an album from her.

Hi Tara! You are one of the best Coaches that professionally analysed Sohyang and other singers very well, So I recommend you to analyse Sohyang's Dream.... It's her own original song and one of the hardest songs ever..... Half of the song is in the 5th Octave and the ending with 6th octave thanks! NOTE: Bb5 is the ICONIC NOTE OF SOHYANG!
