@@zeratul78 Agreed. Showbiz and Origin of Symmetri was really good. I remember back in the late 90's & early 00's when I was a big fan of Muse and couldn't understand why they weren't widely popular among the masses. Then something happened in 2003 or something like that when the song Unintended all of a sudden got attention. It was all downhill from that moment as they fell into the pop culture hole. Oh well, as long as Tool don't do the same. (:

Wow. "His voice is like a guitar" is probably the best analogy for how he is able to create the near seamless connection between his vocals and the rest of the band. This is why I find them to be so captivating because when you listen to them, you're not just listening to the guitar of the drums or bass, you're listening to ALL of it in concert so to speak. Love your take on it! SUBBING!! :D

Around @3:50 you say he sounds like a guitar. Well, supposedly, on showbiz (muscle museum I believe) he messed up the guitar solo during the recording and so he just sang it and added distortion in post. It sounds just like a real guitar. Matt Bellamy is insane.

You can really hear the obviousness of it being his voice in the Soulwax remix, which is way more stripped down in terms of instrumentation, and its easier to discern that the timbre is simply not that of a guitar. It's especially obvious in the way the notes bend, as its kind of difficult to achieve that quality of bending notes like that on guitar. You can get close, for sure, but there are just subtle things here and there that give it away. Professional singer/producer/multinstrumentalist for over 20 years here, for reference.

Uggh most overrated singer of the past three decades in rock. He mumbles everything and has no range compared to someone like Matt Bellamy. The worst is when much better singers (see Scott Weiland of STP) get accused of being Eddie Vedder clones because they sing in their baritone range (which is pretty uncommon in modern rock music.) That said, Black is an excellent song and very emotional, so at least your choice is decent.

"He sounds like a guitar" if you haven't already you have to listen to muscle museum, when recording I think his guitar had issues so he sang into the amp, and I think that's where he got that sound from the he uses multiple times later on

I HAD TO SUBSCRIBE!!! It's thanks to Muse and especially Matthew Bellamy that I started loving rock music and then learnt how to play guitar, sing and play piano... because I've always loved to sing but I was always worried about singing rock because I sounded like Muse in the voice, so I thought I wasn't able to sing rock (a lot of rock singers have their growling voice on point but it wasn't fit for me)... so discovering Muse was for me the starting point to make music

These scoopes you are referring to, where you feel that he sounds like Freddy Mercury. That is a straight copy of Jeff Buckley. Listen to Jeff Buckley covering Dido's Lament, and you'll probably hear what I am referring to.
