Like this version a lot. And I usually listen very little of Miley's singing. Have heard Wrecking ball last. She hadn't voice like this back then, now I know that she's had lot of surgery done, and she was burning candle from both ends in her early yrs. But I actually like her artistic talent and also now she has much better voice suited for "rock" music.

Until recently, I had overlooked the vocals of James Hetfield. Maybe because I have been so enthralled by their instrumentals and deep lyrical genius. James' vocals always just seemed mediocre because he doesn't have a big range, but he is actually a really good singer. Hopefully you will react to more Metallica. If you want feels, try fade to black, or One, or Sanitarium. But their talent with instrumentals have inspired strong emotion on their own.

Metal bands all pretty much have the ability to go low and slow to build drama, and often their best music emerges from it. Female vocalists in "beauty and beast" duets have been common for a while but the huskier lower female voices and the growls from female throats have become also common. I'd love to hear Miley team up with Tatiana Schmayluk who can go up higher and down lower than her, with Miley handling the middle.

@@JenniferGlatzhofer It might be good to know that Alessia and the Villarreal sisters ( _The Warning from Monterrey, Mexico_ ) belong to totally different genres so *The Warning* had to write a song that would fit a pop singer like *Alessia Cara* ( _a Canadian singer-songwriter with Italian heritage_ ) and they did it in less than a week. Since Metallica's drummer, Lars Ulrich had said *"Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it"* they really turned the song inside-out and upside-down. 😄 In my opinion the harmonizing is the best part in this version.

Different but still burned out on it from when the Black album came out. Do wish you would do a review on Liliac, don’t see a lot of vocal coaches review them and the lead singer has a distinct voice, no growling. They are a young family band that told the record companies to pound sand. Prefer one of the originals, “Mars” live, concert footage (be warned, 2:30 guitar “Sam solo” to start). “Dear Father” “Dancing in the Dark” “Sail Away” ballad. A few originals to start with. If you want to start with a cover, they are all good, even covered a couple Metallica songs.
