Also, his drummer - Sugarfoot Moffett - is an absolute beast. Puts most metronomes to shame, and with a phenomenal amount of groove and oomph built into it. A big part of what made Jackson’s gigs what they were was his ability to assemble a crew that were almost as good at what they did as he was.

The guy was so original and incredible, we'll never see the likes of him again. Even the stuff that he didn't create, he took and made better.

MJ's dance technique is unparalleled. MJ is on another planet overall. Not only was his technique incredible, but he had an unparalleled grace and fluidity that made him seem to effortlessly float on air. He had a presence never before seen & never since or will be equalled not to mention his singing is unmatched. He's the greatest singer & dancer of all time! This man wouldn’t stand still for a second when he went on stage. Imagine dancing so heavily til you’re outta breath. You cannot sing while dancing on the level Michael Jackson danced for hours straight.

Michael had practiced every new performance again and again and again, until every finger, every look, was in right place, he was a perfectionist in every part of his music.

If you wonder why Michael used playback more often in the history tour it was because he suffered from laryngitis and other health issues. It’s a wonder that Michael kept going but we all know that he sang since the age of 5 so he don’t have to prove anything to anyone

Comparing the live in South Africa with the live in Munich and Copenhagen, I think his voice is a little low.The Dangerous Tour and Bad Tour should have been the best voices for Michael.

As a guitar player I notice many singers have poor timing - they cant count the beats. MJ has impeccable timing and a sense of where he is in the musical phrase. Everything he does exudes rhythm and timing. its the foundation upon which he builds his performance. Pitch (and MJ is always right on with pitch) is one aspect of his performance, MJ is all about theater.

@@paul-Ess During Destiny his vocals were almost identical to the studio album. In my opinion 1979-81 is the peak of Michael’a Live Vocal ability. Have a listen of one of the songs and compare to the studio album.

He's the best entertainer music has ever seen, his combination voice,dance,song writing,videos,live shows and charisma are rarely seen he's one of a kind.

I've never seen anyone analyse Michaels performance with so much clarity and passion. You've done the great man Justice 🙏

Michael Jackson a true legend!! Sad he had so many health problems. Known dancers of his said that even in between he sometimes had to take in extra oxygen because of his long problems. Lupus I think it was? And with that he had to dance, sing, and everything around it pfff. (and of course his back problems later on as well because of a fall with a crane during a performance)

That crane fall was insane, yeah. Watching the video of it again and the way it slams the bridge down onto the stage hard and yet he kept on performing the song. The shock to his spine must have been immense but 'show must go on' apparently. After the show I think he got taken to hospital because of course.

it's because it was playbacked 95% of the track until the latter few ad libs.

I love the reaction channels who actually react and say something instead of sitting idle and just watching..

i saw a reaction from someone who does production. apparently there are some tracks of micheael jackson that are available without mixing, and you can hear all the vocal tracks individually. it's extremely impressive.

Great reaction! I saw him and his brothers at the second stop of The Victory Tour in Kansas City. My girlfriend won a lottery and got us 4 seats Front row, just the right of center stage. He/they were amazing. The place was packed it was like one big party. My friend who only liked Metal joined us and after the 3rd song, he was like this is great I am so glad I came. If you watch the This is it movie, the rehearsals, he is looking at everything, listening to it all, over and over looking for perfection. It is watching a performer trying to eliminate errors. He is trying to save his voice at one point and the dancers and performers are all off the stage and he is singing to a playback and they are all clapping and dancing and he starts to raise his volume and do the entire part of the dancing, and he finishes and playfully tells them to not do that to him. He was a born performer, he just couldn't help himself.

As good a singer as Michael was, it was his dancing that really made him unique and in a league of his own. I had not seen this video before and it really highlights his dancing style.

Music is about getting an emotional response. This performance shows how you do that. The lead up builds anticipation. The dance is also a visual message, then comes the singing!

People who’ve worked with him say he was an amazing person and artist to work with because of his precision, he always had a precise vision and knew exactly what to do.

Michael's voice is unique! It always takes my breath away while listening to it. I believe he's alive!

He did an excellent job on man in the mirror live... Michael had an amazing singing voice... The voice he used in public differed from his everyday voice too...

I'm old, and MJ was just a few years older than I was. In 2nd grade I had a huge crush on him (yikes!). His voice was amazing as a child, but it was almost too slick. When he was an adult, he managed to roughen up the edges. Which ironically shows that he was even more slick as an adult than he was as a child, because he still managed to be so precise.

Michael Jackson was one in a million with his art style on the the stage and in his song texts and he will always be the king of pop no matter what i think and i grew up with him on his high point like the hystorie world tour i saw it on television at that time and it was really incredible still thinking of it gives me goosebumps

He's simply the best on the stage ever. Professional dancers look so so with him in front of them. His LIVE vocals while doing serious cardio routines for 2 hours are insane. Harmonizers? LOL...Michael never needed one all the while dancing like a madman on stage. One of a kind, for sure.

You really made my night with this! Amazing. One of my favorites of all time.

Fun fact, Michael was actually extremely disappointed in his Motown 25 performance. He was planning on hitting the toe stand, holding it and then finishing the performance. But continuing helped develop the rest of the choreography for the song in years to come.

You gotta love a performer who feels their own music, and Michael was a fine example of that. You could tell how much he enjoyed what he was doing by the care and precision he put into it, the perfect tempo he kept in his dancing, the light it turned on in his face.

This was truly an engaging reaction to watch, first time I watched this channel, your energy is so positive and you are sharp! You should definitely check out the 1988 version of Billie Jean from Bad Tour. That was MJs true prime both when it comes to singing and dancing!

His microphone turns on at about 11:16 before that he was lip syncing. You can tell cause the vocals are too pristine for it to be live, you can't hear him breathing (especially with that heavy dancing) and when he moves his head or spins the sound doesn't waver. Please do a video like this but when he's singing live the whole time otherwise you may as well play the song on Spotify or something and talk about his studio vocals. From his vocals when he started singing live I believe this is on HIStory tour because I can hear his scratchy vocals due to his laryngitis. Absolutely amazing how he still performed whilst having laryngitis. I'm not a hater or anything, I'm one of the biggest Michael fans you'll ever meet but I think if you're talking about his live vocals you should watch a video of him actually singing live the whole time.

In 1983, Michael Jackson lip synced his way through “Billi Jean” during a Motown anniversary special on television. His performance of the song was still so great, no one seemed to care he wasn’t really singing.

I was getting a tour at a Motown museum in Detroit and was a bit tired and leaning lightly against a display case. The tour guide was pointing out some different items on display, some of which were pretty impressive. Then she pointed to the case behind me, and inside was Michael Jackson's glove. Needless to say, I nearly needed a change of underwear.

This performance was 90% playback, but his moves are amazing and magical. But if you really wanna be speechless react to "Rock with You" at Wembley 1988 Simply are incredible vocals. Long live the king of pop !!!

Not really 100%, as it clearly changes to live vocals shortly after the moonwalk.

MJ said that there was no Billie Jean, it was just a composite character based on women that made allegations like this against famous people he knew.

The song wasn't based on anything Michael himself went through but his brothers constantly had groupies over and they often came back claiming that the children they bared were fathered by one of his brothers.
