The singer of this song twitted to kz and they were amazed

The guitarists is actually a good friend of her. Fan fact: She was actually suppose to sing a different song for this particular eps. but for some reason she was asked to change it last minute. She then asked his friend which is the guitarist to help her fix a song with her and eventually end up with this master piece. So all the arranging and practices took only a night before the actual performance to prepare.

The whole arrangement is very simple so I can imagine they put it together effortlessly pretty fast. But thats where the beauty lies in it. in simplicity. :)

The problem is is that, she's been practicing and preparing a song for days when she was asked to change it. So it must've been very hard for her to adjust and start from scratch again. Knowing that it will be performed in a live telecast and in social media platforms the next day. So the amount of pressure is insane and messing up is not an option.

Btw first of all , that's "KZ Tan-di-ngan" hehe. Anyway Fun facts: KZ prepared a different song for this episode and the arrangement for that song came from the Philippines. Hunan Broadcasting System (HBS) decided last minute to change the song because they felt the song is not well known in China and asked KZ to perform 'Say Something' instead since this is one of the songs she performed during the audition that really left a mark on them. We had to fly Macoy (her guitarist) last minute for this and she only got to rehearse this song on the day of the recording but still delivered an awesome performance." Also KZ also received a Tweet from the original performers of the song, A Great Big World. The New York-based musical duo said, "Wow. @KZOfficial. Wow." Hope this info helps 😄. First, "kind of" and "like" have the same meaning. You choose one or the other. Second, the Philippines always had many great vocal artists. Lea Salongga and the other Filipino casts of original Miss Saigon to name a few. There was even a Doble Cara contest back in the 90s where every contestant was a Marcelito Pomoy so I don't know what you're on about.

Aside from Lea, who else among her contemporaries had similar talent?

I love KZ's version of this song. It feels more emotional to me, like you can feel the pain and desperation, if that makes any sense. Would love to hear your rendition of this song as well!

What I like about KZ's voice is it is fool of surprises. It can pull anything. It's full of emotions to the point that it makes cry. Literally every live performance, I cry.

I thought i was the only one who felt emotional. Literal goosebumps when she sang that “I’m giving up on you” repeatedly. Like...I felt that. I felt pain for some reason wtf

The guy is KZ's guitarist in the Philippines that's why they have a connection. Due to sudden change of song entry in this competition, he was flown in to China to join KZ and barely had a day to practice before the performance. "Say Something" happens to be the song entry she sang during the audition which paved her way to securing a position in this competition...and a ticket to stay in the show (4th place for that week).

You’re the first one who pronounced her family name correctly. This is my all time favourite of all her songs. The emotion is palpable n undeniable. Do you know that KZ makes her own arrangement of her covers. To think she didn’t have formal voice lessons but it’s her passion. She came from a humble beginning.

That was actually a last minute arrangement. The producers didn't approve the performance she had planned for this event so she had her guitarist from the Philippines fly in and they arranged this the night before. You could probably hear that her voice was a little fatigued because of lack of sleep. Nonetheless, this was an extremely beautify and powerful performance. The original artists, A Great Big World, commended her for this performance on Twitter. I love how she really showcased a different dimension of emotions on this performance, really tugged my heart.

also i believe Kz knows the importance of drawing the attention of her audience through the intro, coz there are performances before her so she needs to set the atmosphere that the audience will be prepared to the story she will be telling. great reaction, insights and teaching as usual 😊❤️ thank you ma'am!

She arranged and practice the song in a single day. It was replace in the last minute (a day before her performance) because normally they are given a week to rearrange and practice the song. Please also watch and do a reaction of the song she performed The Love you never knew (with English sub) and See when you get there (I think that's the title of the song) all performed on that the Singer show in china.
