That choir bit is actually 1000 fans (including me) who sang the 7 16-bar parts and sent them to Daði by e-mail, so he could build a soundscape and we somehow feel all so connected and protective of the song. 10 Years FTW!!

@@natasha5306 This was such an interesting tidbit when I first heard it, but I found this is their second child. For some reason I was like, "Oh, well." Like a second child is not as good? Anyway, this was my favorite band this year, and I now own a good portion of Dadi's music as well because of it. So good.

This was a completely live performance with all live instruments and vocals. I don't think there really was any effect on Daði's voice. He has a very unique voice with interesting resonance and overtones

She didn't realize throughout the video that there were back vocals and they were women (she kept saying that woman voice was prerecorded probably). When they were editing the video (i guess they had 3 takes - it was saying in the documentary ) maybe they improved some parts, but he is in any case still awesome.

Ide say he ads the tiniest bit of reverb in post for some of his older songs but mostly I don’t think he edits his voice much, just found him a year ago lol his music has helped me understand Icelandic more easily

The music is all Daði. Gagnamagnið is basically a stage act created for Eurovision. It's his wife (lady with instrument on left) his sister (vocalist on right). And some friends. One guy was chosen just because he was funny. I love it, but if you want to hear some more good music, look for Daði Freyr.

I put my headphones on, and I can hear it. I think it's just his voice one octave or two up and volume down. It could be a live effect.

Daði is one of the most adorable contestants this year. How can not love him? And your enthusiastic reaction was adorable as well.

Love it! The two backing singers are his sister and a friend. The “choir” was made from recordings of around 1000 of his fans who submitted their own recordings which Dadi mixed into a backing track. Genius!

Same here. This and the Italian number, although very different, are growing on me so much!

There were female vocals live on the right side of the screen. Also, that's just how Dadi's voice sounds, it's unbelievable. But great critique!

Oh I never noticed that before (and I have played it so many times). It's certainly a genius ending.

They didn’t, but should have won. Musically far better than most, maybe all, other song in the 2021 ESC. This is a song never grow tired of.

I really love this song. I love the fact that it's about his wife. Love songs are too often about someone they just met, we need more songs that like this one that celebrate the one who choose to share our life with

I love this song! It such a cute message. No need to create a hyper sexualised story. Just a sweet lovely song.

I honestly love this song. A lot of people say that it's too similar to the one last year but thats the genre. You can't expect them to do something completely out of the box. Yes, you are missing the surpise element but that was to be expected. Love the lyrics and family values and it's just so much fun! The dance and outfits are exciting. Completely agree with you. They totally deserve to get a high place in this competition.

There's something positively infectious about this lady's personality.

If last year had never happened... THIS SONG would be one of the favourites. You can’t top a masterpiece. So stop comparing it to last year. It’s an incredible song.

The female backing singers are right next to him, it’s not prerecorded

Fun, catchy, creative, different. Love the bass line; Very good vocals from tone to range. It has the hooks I look for in the melody and the harmony.

How does it keep getting better?! This song is another ear worm from Daði, love love love it!💚

Two years after, and I still love this guy. The best Eurovision entry ever.

Last week he did a live stream, he was explaining his video from 10 yrs. He is so funny and witty and very kind and sweet. I asked him to sing a capella because I just love his deep voice and he did a little funny opera thingy not serious at all. 😁 Not showing off. He's a winner already!

i really cheer for iceland this year they have tried for so many years and as i understand eurovison is very important for them up there.

I love them sooo much!

They totally got me of guard this year. I missed Eurovision 2020 totaly so i dindtn know them from there entry there. The whole Eurovisioncontest was running on my TV in the background while i was playing some games on PC, but as they start there performance i paused the game and they flashed me. They where my winner for 2021 and iam a fan of dadis music after that Eurovision. I bindged every bit of KZread performances after that whit lot of joy.

I accidentally discovered Dadi Freyr about a month ago. Turns out there's a history with Iceland and Eurovision. Apparently, they've (Iceland, not Dadi) entered every year since its inception, but have never won (they've come in second a time or two). This year, Dadi Freyr is set to take the gold, but one of their band mates came down with COVID so now they'll have to enter in a pre-recorded song for the next segment, I believe. I too believe Dadi and Gagnamagnid deserve to win and I pray they'll be the first to take home the gold for Iceland.

I kept hearing them on the radio during the first lockdown in Belgium. They would have easily gotten Belgiums 12 points last year with Think About Things. I do really like 10 years too, but TAT was just slightly better. Either way I'm rooting for them.
